ell it's long belated but here are the front and back pics of the dispatch boxed. It's definately not a foreign targeted release because english is the only language on the box unless it was sent only to england or canada. I never remember seeing one of these on the shelves, does anyone here ever spot one back in the day? On a side note, I recently found a girl selling on ebay who was going through a lot of her dad's old stuff from when he was a toy designer. He worked on a bunch of different lines, mostly non-action figure related, but he did help create the sky commanders line. I've asked her to see if she can get any information from her father on whether or not he did any work on the second series and how far into the prototype phase it got before it was canned. I'll keep you guys posted if she ever gets back to me.

Very nice!!!!
I never saw them on the shelves that I remember. I just remember that this was a mail away item. Keep me abreast of any info you find out from the employee. I love sky commanders, and it's quickly becoming my favorite line right now. I already have the complete set, and I keep buying extra stuff for no apparent reason other than to have more to play with.

No this was a month ago when we had the conversation. If she ever emails back I'll let ya know, but I wasn't planning on bugging her about it.

not yet, I got them out on the floor though. I've been rehabbing a bathroom, when the kids take naps. It's a delicate line of balancing power tools, with bottles and baby food.
Hopefully after I get home from vacation after memorial day.

I'm waiting for my kids to get old enough to enjoy them to string them up. That was one of the coolest christmas mornings when I got the full set back in the 80's. You couldn't walk in any room in my house without getting clotheslined.

hi guys, i was cleaning out my closet & forgot i had these things stored at my parents house. I've got a whole lot of sky commanders, in very very good condition. No original boxes, all loose, however 1987 was the end of my toy days as video games were on the horizon. so the toys had about 1 season of playtime stringing up in my room as a kid.
I have no clue what guy is what, name, or anything . Is there some site that has a visual picture & description? i dont even remember what missles/accessories goes to what figure. Once i get everything properly identified, i'll be putting the whole lot up on ebay. I"m into transformers these days, old G1 to the new movie line.

Definatley wouldn't mind starting a section on these Treckmeyer whenever you get the chance to take some pics. I have a few boxed vehicles from the line but not enough to start a section from my own pics. It is tough to find the time though, especially through the summer.

At some point, I'll need to clean up the mess on the floor. I'll take some pictures of what I can. Then work my way through some other things. It will be a few months though, I gotta finish my bathroom first.

Got into these last year by accident. Currently own the Battle Track Patrol MIB; Jackal Raider, Cable Cannon and outrider all MISB; Cable Raider and Search and Rescue MOSC and Rollerball nad Search and Rescue mint loose. Looking to get more, but as a full time student, my income is often the limiting factor.

definitely would be cool to see, sky commanders is such an overlooked design. i always wish they had made a "troop" transport or something that had a lot of interior space for the figures. great toy line! id be interested in seeing unproduced stuff too!

This figure is almost MASK sized and like Battletech, the knees don't bend, any idea what it is from. I found I have a couple of these. Thanks Dan

The bad news is that it's also broken- there should be a line coming out of the back of it, along with a grapple point which attaches to the arm for storage.

i scored the outrider and flexwing vehicles MISB off of ebay about 2 years ago for a steal! other than price tag rips the boxes were immaculate! i never had the guts to open them and ended up trading them for a complete starcom starmax bomber last year. i still regret never opening them :-(

This is toy series that deserves more attention. I will try to post pics of the unproduced items when I get finished with V.E.R.N.

wow! awesome stuff, thank you so much for this update. those second series vehicles are awesome. i always thought this line needed more vehicles with enclosed cockpits. I wish the command center had originally had more room for figures inside. i remember absolutely loving these toys as a kid. thanks again!

This is so weird... I just bought some of these recently and they came in the mail yesterday. I got them out and started to play with them and was amazed at how well thought out the line really was. I bought them on a whim about a week ago since I really remember loving these growing up. I was happy to see that the paint on these guys is very minty and they all have their cords. The thing is, I can't figure out how to set them up! I was about 10 when I used to have these and I don't remember them being at all complicated but without instructions now I can't make heads or tails of them. Anyone remember how to set them up? Is it just a matter of tying the strings to something? What are really baffling me are the long gray strips of plastic that are tied to the ends of the strings. What am I supposed to do with them? Someone plz help lol! Here's what I've got to work with: farm8.staticflickr.com/7194/6950499913_ebf1ef2e38_z.jpgfarm8.staticflickr.com/7189/6950503335_311a2dacd2_z.jpgfarm8.staticflickr.com/7068/6950506641_ba5450c23e_z.jpgI'm pretty sure the wind up thing travels along the ribbon on the vehicle with the clamp but otherwise I'm a little stumped.

The long grey plastic pieces on one end of the strings are used to tie the string to objects. Simply insert the end of the plastic piece into one of the small holes in the plastic piece.
Now that you have instructions, we all want to see your Sky Commanders strung up all over your room.
