Does anyone know a good site for Marvel figures in general? First of all I'm looking for the earliest Venom figure released. Was it the 1990's Toy Biz? Any refferance site? I focus almost all my collecting on 80's figures and below, but I guess early 90's toys are almost vintage nowdays.

I don't know of any good Toybiz sites, but the first Venom fig was from the 1990 line.
Keep in mind, he didn't appear in the comics until about 1988.

www.virtualtoychest.com/marvelsuper/marvelsuper.htmlIt's not the best, but it's okay. I'll work on getting my collection put up in my collection thread. I think I'm only missing a few figs. I hadn't thought about them for a minute. I'll try and complete them and get them up.

I want to say that there were UK exclusives too. If I'm remembering correctly. Union Jack maybe?

Seems like you're right. I think there was a Thor variant and something else. I know the Toy Biz DC line had an Aquaman with green arms that I believe was from the UK, not sure

There was a black Spider Man from Secret Wars, I don't know if that counts.

I'm relatively sure that I remember the Flicking Tongue Venom being the very first. It was followed by a talking Venom figure. The Living Skin Slime Pores and Alien Liquid squirter came later.

Not according to the release dates on the packaging. They came out in the order I posted them up above, with the dates.

flickin tongue is not the first. the living skin was first ,then talking, then flickin tongue.(alien squirt was a rerelease of living skin) there was a pvc sold through comicbook stores during the early 90's late 80's which had a vemon. that would be the first venom toy.

Well, of course, now that I think of it, my memories were first-hand, so what I saw would have been the result of how distribution worked out in my area. I did see them hit the shelves in that order, but that was probably only true for my stores in my area.

My favorite is the flicking tongue figure. As I am an old school type collector, i like it just because the smiplicity of the design like many older toys and that it looks like the early venom when he was first introduced in the comics. Does anyone have a picture of the pvc comic figure and what size is he?

Does anyone have a picture of the pvc comic figure and what size is he? It's been a very long time since I owned him, but I would guess he was between 2 and 3 inches. There were several other PVCs released alongside him. I also had the Ghost Rider.
