I have decided to give collecting the Star Wars prequels another try. At one point I had quite a collection but it came to a point where I decided to downsize and just collect the OT when it came to Star Wars. In 2007 or 2008 I liquidated those items from my collection. A spark re-ignited recently when I found the Clone Turbo Tank in a thrift store and one thing has lead to another. However it is not in my plans to get every single figure from the prequels ever released as for one thing, I don't know if I could live long enough, and some of the figures in hindsight I wouldn't buy now such as the Mace Windu figure with the stick coming out of his back. I'm trying to buy the best versions of certain characters and even though the prequels are overall somewhat shunned by Disbro so not a lot of new stuff is coming out there was still a TON of items released from 1999 to about 2013 so while it's an interesting thought it is also overwhelming to a certain degree. I did find a site I had never heard of before called Jedi Business that has a photo archive where you can see all the figures made of one certain character which could definitely be helpful since I pretty much stopped paying attention to any prequel offerings after 2006.

I don't think the PT was horrible or anything, I don't even revile Jar Jar. I loathe him, I detest him, but I don't revile him. I can't share your fondness for the merchandise, however. I had about three toys from the prequels life time total and one was lost many years ago while another ended up in a box sent to a Kansasian. Crap, I forgot about Legos. Ok, I had a few more than 3, but definitely less than ten. I can definitely see that the prequels brought in a huge amount of new fans though and re-ignited the flame for many older fans. Yet you are right, there really isn't a huge amount of merchandise nowadays. Seems like a missed opportunity. They do have some stuff drip out here and there thuough. Occasionally, a PT character shows up in The Black Series. They have at least covered a wide variety of clone trooper variants, Darth Maul, Qui-Gon, Anakin, and Obi-Wan. Bandai has better coverage in the Figuarts line and also in their model kits.
Two characters I legitimately want new (6") figures of are Grievous and Aurra Sing. Beyond that, not really for me.

I respect your opinion. There are reasons why my PT collection was past tense until recently but I do have a new respect for that part of Star Wars. That must be one lucky Kansasian.

Don't get me wrong: I think the prequels are fine. I didn't even watch them til maybe 6 or 7 years ago just because I was scared they would ruin Star Wars for me or something. I only ever remember people ripping on them when they were still fresh, so I caved and finally watched them and was relieved they weren't too shabby. I started dipping a little more heavily into the Black Series when TFA came out and that was another moment I didn't need every cool thing that came out and would be severely limiting myself on the type of items I purchase from the Disney flick figure lines. I primarily will want stuff from the OT.
I did keep Black Series Commander Cody. I don't display him at the moment but I kept him because I like the character design and the quality that shows in the construction and detailing of the figure--those two things don't often align for me.

I bought 18 figures from one person for $150. If I bought all 18 figures off of ebay from 18 different sellers the postage would be an average of about $7 per figure making the postage total a minimum of $126 so this deal was basically like paying $126 for shipping and around $24 for the 18 figures. This is why I have been hesitant to start buying a bunch of individual prequel figures due to the fact that buying them one at a time isn't really cost effective. The only downside to buying a bunch at once is you have to cough up all the dough at once. This all is why I would like to find a bunch of figures I want at a flea market or something of that ilk to avoid the shipping costs.

Are you collecting specific series like the Vintage Collection? Or are you going for the old PT figures?

Are you collecting specific series like the Vintage Collection? Or are you going for the old PT figures? Well, I made a notebook with pictures of the prequel figures I want that more or less are the best(in my opinion)versions of different characters. So the figures I may want vary from the initial Episode I series through the 2012 Vintage Collection. I already have a decent sized list without getting too heavy into all the different Jedi and Clone troopers. Obviously there are characters that only have one or two figures ever made of them but then there's the characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi that might have 25 or more.

I was under the impression that the older figures are still less than $10 even MOC (with most of the price seemingly wrapped up in shipping charges and ebay fees) while TVC and newer 3.75” Black Series I swear peeps are asking $25 a pop for them. So what kinda deal did ya get for $150?

I went to a toy show today with the wife and bought 8 packaged prequel figures for $37. Coupled with the fact that if I would have bought each one from a different seller online I would have had to kick in roughly an additional $56 for shipping I thought I did well. I also realized I need to work on my want list and have it handy for times like this as I'm not quite sure yet if I bought a figure or two I already have, haven't had time to check yet. This is the third go around for me collecting prequel figures so which ones I currently own and ones I used to own is getting a tad fuzzy. There was a vendor at this show that took existing figures and made marionettes out of them and combined them with his own bases and artwork based on the figure. It was kind of a cool concept.

37 beans ain’t too shabby at all!
Marionettes you say? Kinda interesting that. Having a hard time picturing what that might look like.

He turned a 6" Batman tv series figure and a 12" Hasbro Dr. Zaius from POTA(and other figures) into marionettes with his own artwork behind them. Personally, I think he should have just sold the paintings by themselves as maybe mixing the toys with the paintings was a tad too ambitious.

Lol, guess I’m just not grasping the need to turn a figure into a marionette when it’s already fully poseable. But, you know, art I guess.

Re marionettes; I imagine the limb joints would need to be all loosened up, or cut and reassembled to give it puppet floppiness? It's quite an intriguing concept.

I was going through some pics on my computer and I found out although I neglected to take any pics of the marionettes at the toy show, my wife did.
