My latest acquisition. Was kinda on the fence on whether I wanted him, but he looked cool enough so I bit the bullet. I'm not totally feeling him yet.

I don’t know that it shows up that well in my pics, but he’s supposed to recall the 40s Batman costume, particularly in the hood and cowl. It’s kinda their modernized take on Year One I guess. I thought the laced up boots were kinda odd, but in hand they don’t really bother me.

Messing around with the new deluxe Joker, which I love. He comes with five heads, four of which are new. New ones depicted below (though the hat is built around the grinning head from the original figure). The fifth head is the laughing portrait from the original. Also not pictured: a straight repaint of the original chattering teeth accessory and the repainted joker playing card holding hand.
The new pinstripe outfit with the orange is a pretty classic and snazzy look. A nice feature of the .45 is that you can pull the slide back. The muzzle blast piece has a tiny bullet passing through to the tip. This smile is more subdued.
I love this bashed-up head. I dig that you can see flesh tone in the creases and folds of the skin. The folding straight razor is a nice, nasty little item.
I will definitely get some mileage out of the menacing headsculpt. The muzzle flash also fits on the SMG. Magazines on both it and the pistol are removable, plus there's extra clips. Useless, but fun.
Stripped of the jacket and brandishing a different blade.
All duded up in his longcoat. The crowbar is properly weathered and the time bomb is well-detailed. I'm sure we can find some uses for those.
This was an exclusive that I for once got the jump on. Still kicking myself for not scooping up a classic Punisher when it was under $200! Anyways, I think I'm gonna get the DCUC 70s Joker just for his accessories since he's got the cane, Super Powers mallet, and laughing fish I need to live.

Long before Frank Castle was adopted as a mascot for 2nd amendment-loving rednecks, his scum-murdering antics blew a .50 caliber hole in my heart Well put, man. I long since gave all my Puni comics n figures away, (Punisher hipster confessions) but still keep an eye on what happens with the character. That War Zone movie was pretty satisfying in its portrayal of Frank being so grim and unceremoniously efficient at dispatching mafioso mooks. Haven't caught the Netflix show yet, but watched that zero-parkour-Daredevil show purely for Punisher. Hands down my favorite of your Mezco One: 12s. Deceptively simple and a good defining version of the character. I actually nearly bought a One:12 Punisher at my comic store in the city but was: a) rushing in and out on a work break to clear my comic bag b) not certain what I was glancing at in the moment and didn't wanna regret the impulsiveness. Yay, I live to regret the hesitance instead. Yes, an anecdote about as thrilling as "I didn't catch a fish once" but the fact I nearly swooped up one o' these Mezcos on ignorant impulse explains just how good it looked.

Never watched an episode of Batman Beyond, but this was an SDCC exclusive and he looks pretty snazzé so paranoia made me bite the bullet and preorder him before the secondary market price became ridiculous. Something I like about this figure is that in all media I've seen the Terry McGinnis Batman portrayed, he's rendered in heavy shadow/contrasting ink or stylised minimally. Figure gives you that option of shedding light on his deets and suit tech which makes things interesting.

Haha, well their original One: 12 Pun still looks quite good. Unfortunately, even the standard seems to run about $150 on ebay and there’s so much other ridiculously priced stuff I want this year so I think probably just this one will have to keep me happy for now. How much were they asking for him? The thing with the Netflix shows, imho anyway, is that none of them have been as fun as DD. Even Punisher (solo show) is not nearly as action-packed as it should be. Lots of talking, lots of backstory with Micro... basically felt like just your average drama with tons of brooding. I liked the MAX comic and War Zone in the way that they didn’t have to rehash his origin and just picked up with him having been at war on the streets operating for so many years. To me, he also will always be a Vietnam vet no matter how they update/modernize him. I did however like the Jon Bernthal portrayal. Going back, Thomas Jane was decent also. His 2004 movie was a bit lackluster but okay, and it had a pretty dope tie-in video game where you could drown thugs in toilets and whatnot. Fun stuff. I gotta catch up on some of the more recent Pun stuff like his time with Red Hulk’s Thunderbolts, re-read the Garth Ennis stuff, etc. Crazy volatile gun nuts have kinda taken some of the charm out of the character for me though.

I liked those Bruce Timm style animated universe shows, but the aesthetics don’t really translate straight into cool looking toys. The goodness of that figure is gonna cause me to get into the show though. When DC’s streaming service goes up it’ll be one of the first on my list.

Out of every game allowing you the opportunity to impale a gangster on a live rhinoceros' horn it would be my favourite. It was generally pretty dark and original thanks to Palmiotti and Ennis' writing, a good blend of the Thomas Jane portrayal & comics of the time. Still jam that Capcom beat 'em up fairly regularly too. Nick Fury FTW.

I think every now and then of taking that old game out and replaying it but can’t ever seem to get it together. I do that a lot—Manhunt, The Suffering, Max Payne, etc. That was some good mindlessly violent fun though. And it makes me pine for more Punisher villains in action figure form. I can’t believe after all these years we never got a Bushwacker figure considering he’s shared with Spidey and others. Only guy we ever got was a Jigsaw in Marvel Legends. How about the Russian or a Ma Gnucci with alternate stump limbs??

I think I can hear you kicking yourself right now. Priced by an employee that clearly doesn’t do any research at all. Used to frequent that comic shop when I lived near it, got mad good scores, like when they sell vintage comics on behalf of impatient folks or have ordered stuff in for unreliable customers so just want it gone. Being literally the only real comic store in the city I know they have to put up with dorks that will order tons o' stuff in, pay part of the layaway, then simply never make contact again. Reckon it be something 'long them lines. I think every now and then of taking that old game out and replaying it but can’t ever seem to get it together. Frank's just too darn efficient at eliminating his foes they usually never last beyond a single story arc, haha. Jeez, I don't even remember the Legends Jigsaw.

Man, makin’ me pine for a cool comic shop. They don’t seem very common nowadays outside the big cities. When I was a kid my main spot was called Between Books and it was largely a sci-fi/horror/fantasy bookstore with a large comics section, huge longboxes of quarter comics, ship models hanging off the ceiling, lots of RPGs and miniatures, Gundams, etc. Basically, a paradise for young me, the skinny dork who hated reality. Aye, there’s Kingpin, Bullseye, even Hand ninjas, but they feel closer to Daredevil or the Marvel Universe at large. Jigsaw was one of those weird ball-hip Toy Biz Legends from ye oldern days. But, yeah, you’re right, he just kills muhfuhs too damn good!

But, yeah, you’re right, he just kills muhfuhs too damn good! Ooh. I googled that Jigsaw. Yeah, that's really smooshing me in the face with the big, prominent pair o' ball ... hips. Particularly on the white suit version it stands out. Same thing once stopped me getting the Tomb of Dracula Toy Biz fig.

Weird design choice... and there’s a thigh cut right below so the goofy hips don’t really add anything unless maybe you need to do yoga poses or some pervy sort of auto-fellating. I have a feeling they’ll find a reason to do Jigsaw again to coincide with one of their Netflix waves, but Dracula? What’s chances of that happening again? Maybe if Blade gets hot again for some reason.

Kinda disappointed that Wondy has some QC issues. I’m trying to get her exchanged. I really dig the paint apps and fine detailing on both the figure and accessories though.

Fiddle dee dee and a yo ho ho Fish sticks ain't cool with Aquabro
Sure, it doesn't look too much like Jason Momoa to me... and Aquaman has always sucked and all... but this is an awesome figure. The look is practically seamless and the detailing on the armor and fabric undersuit is just bonkers. Such rich textures. He's gonna be fun to play around with.

Yeah, I like the eyes being off center--gives the expression a lot of character. I like the simple understated nature of this one. Everything is executed very well where it counts.

Well, I felt some fever for getting a Punisher One:12 once upona time, 'specially since I missed a stupidly cheap one. But somehow lived this long without touching that flame. After watching Blood and Black Lace, I was reading about Italian film and remembered that a Diabolik One:12 exists. Ooh hoo hoo boy, thassa some tentazione right there! Been watching one from a local seller for months, it's been available and sitting on the same price, still didn't bite. But then Mezcos all like, "come, come deeper into my cave, little rihia" www.mezcotoyz.com/one-12-collective-conan-the-barbarianCreating a Mezco One:12 Conan at me is such a low blow. Still it's not out until September, who knows what my life holds in the interim? But safe bet I won't be shouting anybody to a coffee between now and then, so's I have the pocket change ready if I crumble. Also I realize what this means. It means I'm a basic bitch. Premium adult collectables with intricate full body outfits, masks, goggles or backpacks, armour or light up features. And which one interests me? The one with no shirt and a pointy stick. Anyway, join me next time on the Action Figure Archive for more stories about toys I don't own or toys I don't have yet.
