Does anyone know a good site to goto, so I can trade or buy individuals by the #. I really do not want to buy a bunch of lots to get like 3 or 4 guys that I need. Thanks, shuptrine

I'm right there with you Shuptrine. I'm about halfway through a complete pink collection and really hate buying lots at this point.

For those of you who need the best reference on muscles or need to complete your collections, littlerubberguys.com is the place to go. I was there two days and I completed my muscle collection. There's literally a guy over there who's working to get a collection of 1 million muscle men. If you need it they got it. But for those of you who think that 236 is the magic number for the north american muscles line, you're a bit off. There's quite a few super rares that fetch big money (like $800-$1000) a piece. I used to think that Joe and Star Wars collectors were spend crazy. The Battle Beast and Muscle collectors go gaga paying top dollar for their stuff.

I still have a bunch from when I was a kid. What are some of the rarer ones? I guess I didn't have any clue as to how popular these guys are. I was never into the colored ones - they seemed like colored reprints to me. I always wanted to get the M.U.S.C.L.E. wrestling ring...

Yep, Satan's Cross is the only real rare one that shows up from time to time.
There are some other odds and ends that have surfaced up. Unexplained oddities that may only only have 1 or 2 in known existence between the MUSCLE community.

Satan's Cross is the least rare of the rare ones. In fact there is some discussion to suggest that he is not really that much more rare than any regular muscle sculpt. Sanford's Black Hole Sunshine is one of the uber rare ones. Here's a link to the muscle uber rare sightings: www.littlerubberguys.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9303

I bought a lot of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures at a flea market about 10 years ago for about $100. It came with 4 of the 28 packs and a can of Planter's Cheese Puffs filled with the little guys. Black Hole Sunshine was sitting right on top. I didn't know at the time that he was rare, but I liked him anyway.

I had collected 200 or 300 of these quite some time ago. I wasn't real crazy when they decided to give them all the different colors. I have 20 or 30 more to complete the line. The problem is, I'm stuck having to buy a lot (that would contain a bunch of duplicates of stuff I already have) just for 1 or 2 figures. I've never seen someone sell them individually.

I sold one separately once. Its name was Black Hole Sunshine and I got $300 for him. He had a hole in his chest with an attached plug you could put in the hole. No one I talked to at the time could tell me of its origin and only a couple were known to exist.

I'm looking for vintage pictures of MUSCLE figures. Maybe your Mom took pictures of your 10th birthday party? Maybe you can see all 4 28-packs in the background of a family Christmas picture? Maybe you took pictures of your messy bedroom and can see MUSCLE figures in the fish tank? Whatever the picture I'd love to showcase it on my MUSCLE website. The section is called Sociology 100 - blog.uofmuscle.com/?page_id=800If you have any questions or pictures, then please email me at UofMUSCLE@gmail.comThanks!

They were the same shape/design as M.U.S.C.L.E. figures and they were not bendy, but not particularly hard plastic either. They were about 3 3/4 to 4 inches tall. One was red and looked like he was made out of bricks, while the other was green and could have looked maybe like he was a swamp thing-type guy. I honestly can't figure out where these guys came from but i played with them A LOT as a kid. Any help would be incredible thanks!

What was their articulation? Like GIJoe (same size) or something else?

Post by victoryleo19 on Feb 21, 2011 13:07:58 GMT -6
They had no articulation at all. Think of them like GIANT sized muscle figures. They were rubber, and probably a little taller than a gijoe, so maybe 4 inches.

They did make big MUSCLES. I know they made 4 inch pinkies and like 6 or 8 inch ones, too. Not sure about colors.

Are they all green or red or did they have paint?

One was red "had a brick like" body and the other was green. The green one might have resembled the kind of flesh that swamp thing has. I can't find anything on that muscle site that talks about larger scales. Now I'm really getting frustrated because I know I played with these guys for years and I can't seem to recall more details!

There weren't actual muscles that were larger. Muscle is the American version of the Japanese Kinnikuman. Kinnikuman had many different sized figures. Here is a little bit more information. www.littlerubberguys.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32720The Brick guy makes me think of a larger M.U.S.C.L.E but the Swamp Thing makes me think of Diener monsters. But I've never seen either of those lines come it at over 2 inches. What year(s) would this have been?

I'm guessing this is the late 80's early 90's, but it could have been a hand-me-down also. Sorry if that doesnt help much. The size may have been larger also, but I was a kid so I didn't think too accurately about stuff like that. Man I'm stumped/

MUSCLEs are so expensive on ebay too. It's so hard to find them very cheap individually. I usually pick them up whenever I'm consignment shopping if I find them that is...

I recently started trying to complete the set of all the flesh colored MUSCLE guys. Ive just been getting lots and trading the doubles on Littlerubberguys.com....some of the guys on there have sales posts for pretty cheap..usually .33-.50 each. I now have about 60 of them and paid about 15.00 for them all.
