I just spotted a new variant tody. You can get special delivery jones in the hawaiin shirt with palm tress with thin trunks and palm trees with fat trunks (twice as fat) . the one with thin trunks has more of a curve to the trunks and the fat trunk version is almost a straight tree trunk. I'd provide pics but it would break this sites rules...so just look around and you'll see it once you start looking for it

Photos of the 8" ones are on page 3.
I would have sworn my Bendie figure was clean shaven, but every one I have seen in the last few years has the stubble, so I may be mistaken.

does anyone own a sgt slaughter that doesnt have water marks on it? ...is it a myth that they all have water marks?

Water mark? I have seen some with a green fungus like marking on them that you cannot get off, but am not sure what you mean by water mark.

I read it somewhere that it was moisture damage or something...anyway whatever it is called do they all have those spots or does anyone own one that is spot free?

Plastic can get damage from moisture, it could discolor the plastic if exposed under a period of time. But fungus also look like spots and they like moisture.
I don't know about the figure, if all of them are damaged by moisture that means the factory messed up on a very large scale, which sounds unlikely to me. But I've heard a bunch of wierd stuff happening before so I guess it's possible but I have trouble thinking that they all got something like that.

My mom got me a Sgt. Slaughter from the Goodwill, I think, for $2. She saw it and thought it would fit with my wrestling collection. He does appear to have the spots that is being mentioned here. I didn't know that many of them had them.

Last week I got lucky and scored an LJN Ultimate Warrior at my local Value Village for $4. It is pretty much mint and was the only LJN wrestler on the rack. Funny enough every other action figure their has been sitting for weeks as the $4 price tag per figure is also on a bunch of loose incomplete X-Men and common TMNTindividually bagged figs

That was the Ultimate Bargain. That's a good one! I laughed a little too loudly while at work. Lucky nobody is around.

I sold the collection I bought a while back, including Sgt. Slaughter. I regret it now. I think it was a foolish mistake. Not too long ago when I purchased a huge lot, they and a bunch of Hasbro ones were the only things I left behind (aside from the MIB steel LJN cage).
I regret that too. I HATE making mistakes!
But at the same time, it's hard finding them in great shape.

You definitely should have kept the Slaughter if it was any sort of decent shape.

I had a lot of these figures at one time as well, but yes I'd give them away to people and sell some as well but we can always get them back at some point

For me most of the HTF final wave figures that I usually come across are in great shape (other than 1 Rick Rude I came across). Probably because by then kids had lost interest and just packed them away or chucked them in a corner where they sat. Its the earlier figures that show up rough and worn all the time.

Other then Honky Tonk Man, Dibiase, One Man Gang, Bam Bam Bigelow and any others that had the color base underneath, that is true.
The later ones had less play most of the time although the two Hogans seemed to have problems with the knee pads getting damaged. Slaughter's hands were a problem as well as Warlord's boots.

I dont collect these but I just found 3 bendies at the thrift store yesterday. A HH, a andre with short hair and a nikolai. After looking at them I realized we had these as kids. Crazy the things you remember once you havent seen something in a long time

I think the nose was the first thing damaged on most of the above. The others just had progressive damage the more they were played with. Hogan's knee pads may have been the result of that being the place he was held during the "match".

Just about every kid I knew, including myself, had a ton of these. Were they cheap or something or just super popular? I remember loving the guys since I idolized them on TV but didn't play with the toys much due to their "statuesque" nature. ;P

The "statuesqeness" is why I never got into these. As a kid, I couldn't imagine how to play with figure with no articulation. That's why I always enjoyed the bootleg wrestlers I had. I had a bunch of them and even then, the movement is somewhat limited, but you could still do moves like a DDT, Body Slam, Gorilla Press Slam, or a Suplex, etc. LJN figures just never worked for me. The Thumb wrestlers were probably the best when it came to doing more unique moves, because of their flexibility. These I enjoyed. I had a few official WWF ones as well as some of the bootleg ones. Had many a match with these. The Hasbro ones also sucked for the same reason as the LJN. One move and that's it. Plus some had weird shapes like The Rockers. Just ugly.

Yeah, I do remember one line that came later that were hard plastic(Hasbro?) and as you say, they were cool in that they at least had one move but it made them forever stuck doing that one move lol. The LJN ones I am assuming were the big rubber ones eh? I remember those having that one thing where you could slam them into the ground feet first and they could propel forward, slamming into a standing one but yeah, otherwise rubber statue time.

Although I am a big wrestling fan (mostly the old stuff), I was never a hardcore wrestling figure collector. A few years ago, I bought a lot of about 30 figures for only $1 each at a Thrift store. Now thats the way to start a collection ;D. I do pick up the odd LJN figure when I can get a good deal. Also wondering what the rare figures in the line are? I heard that 2 of the hardest to find are the Warlord and Ultimate Warrior. Anyone know of any Websites that feature pics of the line loose and complete? Three of my rarest gems are Harley Race,Haku & Rick Rude. I'm in search of a Bad News (Allen) Brown.

Bad News was never made. He was shown on the back of the packaging of the later issued figures, but several of them were not made.

Very cool line. Finding that Ultimate Warrior for $4 was a great score. In my opinion these are still some of the best looking wrestling figures ever made. If not the best. Not too much fun to play with though.

My mom got me a Sgt. Slaughter from the Goodwill, I think, for $2. She saw it and thought it would fit with my wrestling collection. He does appear to have the spots that is being mentioned here. I didn't know that many of them had them. Wow! $2 for a Slaughter figure. What a great mom for knowing what it was and picking it up. This one is still missing from my collection.

I have been working on collecting the entire set of ljn's for about six months now. I'm close to completing the entire set, only 14 short I believe. Been contemplating selling my bootlegs (same bootlegs eBay sniper collects) in order to fund and finish my collection.
Also this is my first post, but long time viewer. I will post pictures of my ljn collection soon.
