There's a Sgt Slaughter Hasbro made back in the 80s as a mail away. Same size and style as the LJNs, but slightly harder plastic.

Today I went to a yard sale and this lady had about 42 of them. She wanted $2 each, but I talked her down to a $1 each. I bought Stg. Slaughter (keeper), Bret Hart and Kamala for resell.
Anyway, I think she would of sold the entire lot for like $25.
I know these are collectible, but most of them had the usual amount of heavy paint wear. Is there a profit to be made if I bought the lot?

If they have heavy playwear, you are not going to get more than a few bucks apiece, and that is if you can find a buyer/customizer who would take them in that condition. It also makes a difference who they are. If you have alot of manager types and the ones everyone has (Hillbilly, Valentine, Beefcake, Hogan 1, Skeik, Volkov, Long hair Andre, etc, they are not going to bring much. It you could get them for $25, you would likely do ok, but if you are paying $2 each, with the figures mentioned above, you would probably do little better than break even.

I went back and popped on them all for $25. I don't care if I sit on them forever, because they're cool. I had a ton when I was younger. I might just keep all of them!
Do you have any tips for cleaning off paint rubs? I've been using scrub 'n bubbles and a toothbrush, but I think the toothbrush is leaving scratches on the surface of the figures.

I think Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are the best for getting off the black and color marks. The pads tend to crumble with heavy use, but they do work and leave the natural color on the figure. It almost makes them look new, except where the paint is already gone. I close the drain to make sure pieces do not go down it and have a very light stream of water flow onto the figure while cleaning it.

They should do well for you. It seems to stop further paint from peeling when you use it around the areas where the paint and the already removed paint meet. I really have not noticed any dulling.

I had a small collection of LJN figures and the original monster ring as a child. I parted way's with them but I've collected each line ever since then expect for Hasbro and Remco, I've only ever had one of each. I never had Hogan and Andre from the LJN line it's a shame I always wanted them, although years later when Hogan went to Turner's promontion WCW I was able to get a OSFTM Hulk Hogan and I still have it to this day.

I'm a huge fan of this toyline and was wondering if anyone here could answer my question.... all the tag teams beside strike force come with brown belts but my question is are all these belts the same size? .. I ask this because my killer bees team have really small waists but then the british bulldogs have big waists so my brown belts are a perfect fit for the bulldogs but flop around on the killer bees. So do the brown belts come in different sizes?

Also I think I've spotted a new variant ..I have the bulldogs tag team with red pants and then another set with brown or marone pants. I was curious if the single carded bulldogs came in 1 colour and maybe the tag team version came in another colour....not sure if anyone knows the answer just thought I'd ask.

The belts are adjustable so that they will fit any figure.
I do not think the red/maroon on the Bulldogs is a vatriant so much as sun fade/oxydation. More seem to be maroon, but none red as in fire engine red. Some are brighter than others. It is like the Iron Sheik. I have found his pants wth orange, green and yellow designs on the pants. Some have said there are two colors, but I have three.

I love the LJN line, although I don't have many I'd love to get some more in time. I have two different MOC colour varients of Bret Hart, a Jim Neidhart, Ax and Mr Fuji all MOC, plus a loose Hart Foundation set.
Others I'd love one day are Warrior, Warlord and Rick Rude. Maybe also one of the Hogans too. Not forgetting the MIB Hart Foundation tag set. I'd also like to upgrade my blue card MOC Ax for the black card version if I ever get the chance.
Cheers for now.

I think the White Shirt Hulk Hogan is the greatest figure from the entire LJN line followed by the Hart Foundation and The Warlord and Ultimate Warrior loved the bendie figures as well

There is another variant which never seems to get mentioned...Brutus beefcake comes in either light pink lightly spotted pants or dark pink heavily spotted pants.

The pink one may be a repaint. I would have thought if it was otherwise, it would have been noted by now. When you first wrote about it, I was thinking it might have been oxydation, but that does not seem to be the case. I have several that match that scenerio.

Both my beefcakes are near mint...I think its definitely a variant....I also have spotted that there is a brown and red/brown variant on the bull dogs tag team....I've been reading around on LJN wrestlers from a lot of web sites and i find it amusing that some figures are variants and others are just fading paint , oxidization etc etc.........I wonder who decides which is which ??............How can you have light blonde / dark blonde Greg Valentine as a variant and then the next figure say the bulldogs tag team is fading paint...I still doubt that the Bret hart pink, pink purple and purple variations are legit...maybe his real color is pink and over time it turns purple or vice versa . I still believe that there are mutliple sizes on the tag team belts but we would only ever find out if someone here who bought every tag team set new could measure all the belts. So far i have 2 different sizes but i believe that there has to be at least another size (small) to fit the killer bees. Its good to see so many fans of the WWF LJN wrestlers here.

I am curious on the LJN Billy Jack Haynes. I have one, in fantastic condition, with OREGON printed on the back of the trunks. I have been under the impression that all of those figures had OREGON on the back, but that may now not be the case, my nephew claims he has one without the state name on the back. If it is a variant, which one is the variant and which one is the regular figure?

Sadly the market was so good for these and wwf hasbro figures before jakks started their Classic line and since it seems the value of these has gone to gragae sale prices. I myslef only have one left after all these years but I doubt i can ever let it go. It is a minty fresh Boss Man. So mint in fact it still ahve the white lettering on the bottom of his shoe.
The first ones I ever bought was the Strike Force 2 pack. I had just gotten into watching wrestling and the split up must have just happened as the big mid card feud was Tito vs Rick. When I opened the box I was mad because they didn't have any articulation at all. I thought they were huge bendy figures. As a kid I only ended up owning a small handful of them and most of them were bought after the WWF Hasbro figures came out so LJN was on clearance. I know I had Billy Jack Haynes, Funk, Fuji, SD Jones (who I used as Bad News Brown) Classy Freddie Blassy. I think that may have been it my cousin had the bigger names so when I went to see him I was able to play with Macho Man, Steamboat, Hogan, Beefcake. Has any one heard of what the series after the Warrior series was rumored to be? I will need to see if I can find the pictures again but I once saw pictures of Bushwackers and Bad News Brown for sure. I thin it also showed Akeem and the Rockers but I could be wrong on those two.

The ones I read about were Bad News Brown, Brother Love, The Bushwhackers, Demolition Smash, and The Barbarian. Here could be two of them: Barbarian (with the Warlord) and Smash of Demolition.

I think the Ricky Steamboat with red legs was a prototype. Orange legs would likely be a custom.
