I collected this series for the first two years it was out, but lost interest after. The rink was my favorite part. I loved how those figures could BOUNCE when they got slammed on the floor.
Incidentally, I owned a Junkyard Dog variant back in the days. I wonder if it's documented. Mine had a red chain instead of a grey one.

Hopefully i will get him one day to. probably won't shell out the going prices for him on Ebay, but maybe I will run into him locally some day. Wow this is to funny! Made a trip to the local Flea Market today and guess who I picked up for $5... an LJN Sgt Slaughter figure! I'm pretty stoked about scoring him and locally for so cheap! Also got 4 other LJNs all with their belts for $5 each. The old guy who I bought them from said he had recently sold the Ultimate Warrior on Ebay, not sure why he didn't auction off the rest, but good thing for me he didn't.

The Flea Markets here are kinda small and vendors don't really get in as many action figures as they used to so i don't think collectors frequent them as much. When they do get older figures in, they usually stick around for awhile. Also I don't think there are to many people around here that collect lines other than Tranformers, Joes & Star Wars

BTW anyone know which LJN figures all came packaged with belts? I know all the versions of Hogan each had a black belt and all the tag team sets came with a pair of brown belts. Did any tag teams get the black ones (I though maybe Strike Force did???)? Did any other individual figures come with belts?

I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THE TAG TEAMS WITH ANYTHING BUT THE BROWN BELTS. THE BLACK BELTS HAD SOME SQUARES AND I HAVE SEEN SOME THAT ARE GOLD AND SOME THAT ARE GREEN. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE GOLD WORE OFF TO GREEN OR IF THEY WERE MADE THAT WAY.

Macho Man Randy Savage came with a belt; I think it was brown and silver.
IIRC, when WWF made it's big national expansion, and had the cartoon and launched the figures, Hogan was World Champ (gold belt) and Savage was IC champ.

Scored an LJN Rick Rude the other day for $5 from a local collectible store. He has a bit of wear to his face but I'm not complaining for the price. Good thing nobody in my hometown knows anything about WWF LJN figures!

I have a Jake the snake bag 6-8 inches big. It's green, has "Jake the snake" written on it and comes with a rubber snake, possibly Damien. I have asked other wrestling figure collectors about it and no one seems to know if LJN made it. I forgot what the tag says, and no one has put one on ebay. I love jake the snake and it's a cool item in my collection. but, I have no idea of it's rarity or worth. I will try to get a pic up soon.

Yeah, you can get them in lots REALLY cheap. Single is the bruiser. Thats why a lot of people buy lots and break them up. I just a loose Mail Away Hogan/Macnine mail away for $40.00 from a local dealer. Now I can list my 2 carded ones.

I'm not a follower of wrestling, but I am a follower of cheap b-movies, so when I saw this guy I couldn't help but be reminded of Tor Johnson. Marked LJN 1986, anyone know who it is? (Alas, Lobo is not for trade, at least not until someone puts out an actual 3 3/4" scale Tor figure)

George the Animal Steel, he played that guy in the Ed Wood movie. So you kind of have a Tor figure .

That would explain it. He made a pretty good Tor in the movie, too.
Thanks a lot, Meaty.

Just scored another Warlord figure at a yard sale over the weekend for $15 including another 6 or 7 figures. Already have him so hopefully can use him to trade for a Haku or Ultimate Warrior.
Also came across some info stating that the Bushwhackers, Brother Love, Bad News Brown, The Barbarian and Demolition's Smash were slated for an unreleased final series. Does anyone have any info on this or maybe an LJN catalog that might have pics?

If you go onto EBAY and enter ljn figures and pull down, there is a review of the items, series by series. It also states the figures mentioned were to be part of the next series.

Im not a collector of wrestling figures, but I did want to mention the fond memories I have of those WWF wrestling "buddies" that were released back in the 80's. These guys were basically wrestler shaped "pillows" that kids could wrestle around with and throw around the house. I still have 2 of them- an ultimate warrior and a macho man randy savage. I used to drive my parents nuts doing elbow slams off my bed and onto the floor on top of those figures.

No, just a set of tag belts. The gimmik did not last that long and the figures may have been released before they used the dog.

Naw, damn that would have been nice though. So now I have a spare Rick Rude and Warlord that I would swap for a Haku or Ultimate Warrior if anyone has them.

saw what i thought was the newest Jakks 'classic superstars' (LJN style) figure: Nature Boy Ric Flair: Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
The figure has a lame pose, he's just standing there; the cardback shows more of a strutting pose.

I also saw the Flair figure, i have ther Unmatched Fury figure and it looks like the LJN style version was based on that one but you are right about ther strutting style pose, his top half looks like it doesn't match up to how his legs are posed.

Just wondering if, besides the jakks ljn style classics & the line of WCW figs from the 90's is there any other ljn size & style wrestling figures out there? Thanks!

Galoob's figures were smaller and not flexible, but were solid with no movement if that answers the question. You could not pose the WCW or LJN figures either.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I have the 1st wave of the Galoob figures. I was just wondering about other figures with compatibility to the ljns. Like maybe some of the Japanese wrestling figures or Mexican wrestling figures?
