Anyone else familiar with resin toys, stuff from Killer Bootlegs, Healeymade, ETC Toys, Trutek, and the like? I've been picking up some great limited toys lately (pics to come later) and was wondering if anyone else here was into this stuff?

Definitely familiar but yet to pursue any, only if they came out on the cheap would I pick them up. Looking forward to your pics - some of those designer figures really inspire something in my appreciation for contemporary art.

Cool! Here's my most recent purchase, the "Hex Master of Reality" from Healeymade! Need to take pics of my other figures when I'm home from work this evening.

They are cool, but too expensive. I usually see them in the 40 to 60 dollar range, which I guess people think is worth it for a custom toy, but I think 10 to 20 sits better. I know that they have to charge that high a price because they have to buy the materials in bulk, but don't have the capacity to mass produce.

I do like the look of some of their stuff. ManOrMonster? makes some really nice stuff too. I picked up a Goodleg custom a few months back on a whim and decided not to get into custom bootlegs. The resin is a completely different feel from regular action figures and yeah the price is just too high for me to collect anyway. Someone posted about some vinyl customs by Hirota Saigansho on facebook (Five Point Five). They look amazing.
One trend I don't understand is the stuff by pop artists like Sucklord & Lamour Supreme. Lots of ugly figures, endlessly repainted and selling for hundreds of dollars. wtf

Hey everybody! I have moved to primarily collecting 5.5" resin figures from dudes like ManOrMonster?, Goodleg, BigMan Toys, Extratruckestrial, and a bunch of others. Yes, they're pretty expensive, but so are rare knockoffs. In the end, I probably don't buy as many toys by being mostly into the indie stuff, but that's cool with me. I've ended up with some super rade, super weird MOTU-style figures. I actually run that Five Point Five group on FB. The theme is meant to be any figures in the vintage MOTU style, but, since lots of the people on there are the artists behind the projects, the group certainly tends toward the resin stuff. I also do my own resin figures, Galaxxor. Back to lurking...

I really like the style of your figures Galaxxor. Frostkronna, Phobos and the Lucha Shark especially are amazing. There's also a new kickstarter line called EonQuest in the works. The intro in the video is really cool. I like the Capt Wolfmoon figure.

Granted he was one of, if not THE first guy producing resin figures- it's all terrible junk with Boba Fett or Stormtrooper heads. He's now doing this thing called "Suck Panels" where he's taking a magazine cover, pasting it to cardboard, splashing some paint on it, then putting a beat up used figure (NOT custom made of resin mind you, actual production stuff) in a bubble and on the magazine cover. People are eating this garbage up at $50-$200 a pop. I Didn't mind his resin figures, but this "Suck Panel" BS has really got my blood boiling, totally taking advantage of the people who consider him an artist for some reason. Sucklord truly does suck.

I am currently loving alot of the independant toy companies out there for products, however I too hate Sucklord. I find his stuff to be garbage and his perceived attitude about stuff overall annoys me.
For ones that I like
anything Glyos related is very neat Mechazone does some good stuff Meadowknights AMP mini figurs are cool I do like some of what Healeymade has done
That is all I can think off the top of my head

I like some of the stuff but usually don't know it exists till its gone and people want 4 times the initial already too high price. I do have 1 healeymade piece from a few years back because it was based on one of my all time favorite figures. sucklord had a series for awhile called the space mens which I actually liked but are selling way way way too high, his other stuff I also dislike and im a toy collector not an art collector so I don't even see the point of his cards and painting and stuff. and im not a big boba fett fan in the first place.
what is the Glyos system? ive seen toys mention using the glyos system but have no idea what it is.

Here's a few projects that I've recently done or will be releasing soon. They're all in the 5.5" vintage MOTU-style/scale: Barbalien Warrior and Magus 2 Pack (already sold out) Xenotron (coming soon) Tricera-Tank (coming soon) The Barbaliens were done in collaboration with Extra-Truckestrial Customs, Xenotron was my original sculpt produced by True Cast Studio and Tricera-Tank is a collab that I'm doing with Goodleg Toys.

I like some of the stuff but usually don't know it exists till its gone and people want 4 times the initial already too high price. YESSSS! UGH That drives me mental as well. I know of only a couple of people and don't actively follow the subsection. However some of what I see is really cool and creative. 2 top people are Manly Art and Falcontoys. Manly's adult themed Star Wars stuff and Falcontoy's recent Pop-Art Han Solo in Carbonite are items I would kill someone for. Unfortunatley they were so limited there's no way to get them for a reasonable price. The Falcontoys Pop-Art is a perfect example. It had a cool case and cardback idea, and the figure itself was Han in Carbonite but as if he was frozen in a frosted Pop-Tart. Seriously I NEEEEEED that figure so bad but guess how many they made? 15 Yes, FIFTEEN!!!! I just don't understand. And they were $30 a piece which was very reasonable. However there's no reason to keep these so limited! I think collector's are drawn to these for the art not the BS limited nature of them. THAT is what scalpers and shady collectors get drawn to more which takes them away from, IMHO, true fans of the hobby. So if they stumbled on a real hit with fans. Keep making them! Make a nice profit off of it. One Pop-Art Han went up on eBay for a BIN for 3x the amount it sold for. Not even a month after they first sold out. Sad.
