Hi all.
I was wondering if there is anyone who has both the original & reissue Fortress Maximus figures?
Is there an easy way to tell the difference apart from the date stamp on the figure? For example, could someone pass off the accessories as original rather than reissue.
I would assume the original parts would be made of heavier plastic.
Thoughts anybody?

I have the reissue and had the original a few years back. I can't really remember any differences though. Side by side I believe some of the darker blue is a shade lighter but you can't tell otherwise. I'm actually going to list my encore edition on eBay tonight.

I would say then that the original would lose it's value somewhat, especially if the differences are minimal

Oh yeah, it dropped significantly when the encore edition came out. Why should I pay thousands of dollars for a vintage MIB when I can get it for $200 and not have the plastic yellowed or brittle? I know some of the parts have to be on getting passed as originals to on eBay.

You're right, the 1987 and 1988 figures are really prone to yellowing. I wish there was a way to tell the difference between the original parts & reissue parts!

I'm sure side by side you might see slight coloring difference but other then that, good luck.
