Just wondering if anyone here collects old boardgames, I found my old Fireball Island recently and it got me interested in games from that era. What are some fun board games worth owning?

When I used to garage sail a lot in the 90's, board games were one of the things I always looked out for. No one seemed to care much about them and I could often pick them up for a quarter. When I moved to another state, I ended up donating the majority of them. There are so many different games to choose from. Just about every tv show and many kids movies have had a game based on them. Often the licensed games are not very creative or fun to play though because they're just cashing in on the name.
Some games I held onto because they were fun to play: Rack-o, Can't Stop, DoubleTrack, Op-Tile, Gambler, Dungeon!, & Heroquest.
I remember my brother had a cool game in the 70's called Voice of the Mummy. Very attractive design and a little record player inside gave cool sound effects as you played. Dark Tower was a cool early electronic one too. Both would probably have to be restored to work like new at this point.

The piece looking like army men type playset it sure helps Many imitator and game of the same era are also quite fun: Dark World, Dragon Quest, Dragon Strike (both by the maker of AD&D). Fantasy and monster wise Crossbow and Catapult and Yipes! are two of my favorite. Else I'm in talk to trade the M.U.S.C.L.E. Mega-Match boardgame, which will provide a nice battleground playset for my M.U.S.C.L.E. guys. I also play and have a decent amount of modern games, independently of the fantasy, monsters and action figure theme. But I sure love getting older, geek themed ones

Yeah, i'm definitely a fan of all those old dungeon crawling games like Hero Quest, Dark World, etc
Anyone remember a game from the early 90's called Siege? You had little catapults and crossbows and you'd have to knock down your opponent's army and castles. I remember that being really fun.

I do. I picked up the ROTJ Saarlac pit game the other day. I also have transformers, star wars, muppet show, M.A.S.K.
I'd LOVE to get a copy of fireball island. My parents threw ours out when I was a kid because we always fought.
