I have spotted the 3 3/4" figures at a couple of Wal-Marts but the one I mentioned was in a town that you could say is a little smaller market than some of the others. I might have caught them in the middle of a reset or maybe they had none due to the bubble issue that was just mentioned.

Ahhh, well yeah that would make sense then. Especially if it was one of the old school Wal-Marts (I assume there are some still in operation. Around here they've all been closed down and replaced w/the Super Centers). I've worked in retail and I know how easy it is for older stores to be off the corporate grid as it were.
I never did read any stores about a recall my self, and I follow a number of Star Wars collecting sites, but my friend insists he saw it, and it would explain why all stores have pegs for them, but no figures. I mean they could just be seeling like hot cakes, but surely there'd be a straggler or two.

Crap, they never even got here before recalled. If they where then those first ones are going to be really rare.

Well, I did some searching and here's what I came up with: - There have indeed been issues with "bubble separation" with the 3 3/4" Black Series, with some stores apparently resorting to taping or stapling the bubbles back on. I couldn't find any evidence of a recall though, so my friend may have mis-read something. - The bigger issue that may be keeping the new 3 3/4" series off pegs; leftover stock. While the new lower priced "Saga Legends" figures have been easy to spot, because so many stores have left over TPM 3D and TPM "Vintage" style figures (which often share the same $9.99 price point as the new Black Series), and because stores seem to refuse to mark them down, they are choking the pegs and collecting dust while the new Black Series chills in the back dock . Either way, a pretty inauspicious start to this new line.

Since my last post, I've picked up the 6" Luke, Sandtrooper and Boba Fett (The Wave 2 release, not the Comic-Con exclusive). Boba I bought on-line, but got lucky and nabbed him cheap. He's going to be tough to find at retail. I'm really loving this line. I was curious if anyone else was collecting it as well?

I found wave one in, of all places, my local Alco store so I finally caved and put the Luke, Sandtrooper, and R2 on layaway. I kept on telling myself no everytime I saw these but since I didn't have to cough up the $65 all at once I decided to do it.

That's a smart approach. It's painful to part with $60-80 at one time for a couple of action figures . Unfortunately we don't have any Alco stores near here (I see they have them in Ohio, but none near Dayton). I'd like a another place to hunt besides Target, Meijer and TRU (I assume TRU has the 6" line, I haven't been to one since last Christmas. The one nearest me closed down a few years ago and the next closest two are a 15-20 minute drive).

Last time I was at a TRU, a little more recently than you have by the sounds of it, they didn't have them but I'm not quite sure they were out yet. I'm not ready for wave two to be out yet, since I don't really have wave one until I pay the layaway off!

Yeah, I hear you. Just had my Niece's birthday last week. My Nephew's is in two, and then of course there's that little holiday known as Christmas. I believe today is the actual street date for wave 2. At least the 25th is what many e-tailers had been showing. But I went ahead and ordered Han Solo direct from Amazon last week, as they showed him in stock, and he's due to hit my doorstep sometime today. $25 w/shipping and now I don't have to drive all over town looking for him. I think I'll just ask for Greedo for Christmas.

Well, I spoke too soon. I walked over to Target the other day to kill time while I was getting an oil change and they had 1 Greedo and 1 Slave Leia. I picked up Greedo and left Leia. Greedo is very cool. Slave Leia is okay, but her, uhhh...state of undress...makes it hard to hide the articulation and makes her look a bit wonky IMO.

I agree about Leia. Something seems a little off there. The 6" second wave Boba Fett looks great. They are slowly starting to show up at Targets now.
I ordered a 3.75" black series skiff guard -Vizam this morning from Hasbro toy shop with a code that gives free shipping with no minimum purchase and 10% off. The code is on their main page.

Nice! Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a look . And speaking of deals, Amazon still has wave 1 of the 6" series (sans the Sandtrooper, who was $13-14 last I checked) %50 off, with free shipping on orders over $35. So you could pick up all four for about the cost of two at retail price. I think they may have some deals on the 3 3/4" Black Series as well. Just beware that Amazon's shipping practices are a little suspect. I got my Black Series Han Solo in a bubble mailer last week!

Yesterday I saw remnants of what must have been some figures from wave two of the 6 inchers as there was one Princess Leia at a KMart but there was a paint flaw on her hair which is probably why she was left. I wouldn't have paid $19.99 for a figure of her with the paint flaw either.

You know it's funny, the Leia I saw had a paint flaw in her hair too. Sort of a horizontal scrape across the front revealing the flesh-tone paint underneath.

@ toyboxhero, I was lucky that a friend with an Amazon Prime account was willing to order me a 6" Sandtrooper so I got free shipping. I got it on the day last week that it dropped under $11.00. It arrived 2 days later in perfect condition.
I really hope Amazon does the price drop with this second wave as well so we can all get cheaper Boba Fetts. I don't expect it to happen before Christmas, but I will keep checking.
I thought I had a decent deal from Hasbrotoyshop when I ordered my skiff guard, then days later they had the save 25% and free shipping deal. I ordered the new Darth Plagueis , and from Gi Joe retaliation; Jinx, Stormshaddow , and Blind Master. The sale is still on. Final price for 3.75" star wars black series is $7.49 with the code

That's phenomenal, justrygt. Congrats! Heck, you got that Sandtrooper for the cost of a Black Series 3 3/4" figure.
I suspect they might do a price drop on the Greedo, Slave Leia and maybe Han (especially since the latter is also going to be shipping with Wave 3 now), but Boba is so darn scarce right now. Just for curiosity's sake I checked Amazon a few nights ago and the cheapest I saw was $53.00! Last I looked eBay sellers had him more in the $40 range. I so lucked out getting mine for $26.50. The next day the seller I bought it from jacked him up above $40.00. I think they either underestimated what Boba would be worth or listed him @ $26.50 by mistake, as that was what they wanted for Han as well.

cool defzombie, glad someone else got to use that code in time. Amazon prices continue to go up and down. 6" Boba Fett was $22.00 today , then it went back to a higher price a few hours ago. He might get to be under $15.00 somewhere eventually. There are a few first wave 3.75" black series figures that have been under $4.00 many times this week from Amazon.

Now the 6" greedo is $9.00. I almost made an order because there are a lot of deals on the '60s tv series batman figures. I still couldn't get my total high enough to make another order tonight.

Found this at my local Target. Boba Fett 6 inch! Asked an associate to see what he had in the back. He pulled this out and a few others. And yes he is as awesome as the online pics of him show

Congrats! I never did see Boba in the wild, but a buddy of mine saw two while he and his wife were out and about doing their Christmas shopping this past month. I got mine for $26.50 on-line, so I'm happy. In total I've picked up 5 of the 8 figures, skipping Maul (Not a PT fan), Leia (Figure looks a little wonky to me) and R2 (Just too small to pay $20 for IMO, though I'll probably end up getting him when they release a 3PO).

I went ahead and bought a case of the wave 2 six inchers since all four figures were from the original trilogy(the only Star Wars items I collect). I figure the price would even out and save me some gas and shoe leather trying to hunt Boba Fett down.

You would think the Plagueis wave would have been in stores a month ago since it was available on-line right after thanksgiving. I have not seen anything past wave 2 for black series 6" and 3.75" scale.

A friend and fellow collector said he heard that the 3 3/4" Black series was recalled because they were having issues with the bubble staying attached to the card That's seriously sad quality if the bubble is known for coming away from the card, because I saw these as aimed at the MOC collector. The 3-3/4" figures alone just aren't very exceptional IMO, wasn't it all about the matte black, minimalist and stylish packaging in the first place? I saw a few 3-3/4" Blacks at a Kmart recently, they had them strewn around across shelves, scuffed up and over-bunched on the wrong pegs. Still wanted 20 a pop. Buying one would've been like eating caviar out of a dumpster.

I believe the next three out from the OT are Stormtrooper, Luke, and Han. Yep, along with Ep. III Obi-Wan (Ep. III Anakin was supposed to be in this wave, but he was moved back and replaced with the Han Solo re-pack). That Stormtrooper is going to be a HOT seller let me tell you. At least as popular as Boba Fett, and perhaps more because even at $20 a pop he's an army builder for some. Yeah, these were definitely aimed at the adult collector, as Hasbro took a two-tiered approach with their 3 3/4" line. The cheaper, less articulated "Saga Legends" line ($5.99 here in the U.S.) and the "super articulated", highly detailed Black Series ($9.99 here in the U.S.). I never was able to confim that about the bubbles, but I've seen at least two instances where the store had Black Series cards on the pegs with the bubbles taped back on! I saw a few 3-3/4" Blacks at a Kmart recently, they had them strewn around across shelves, scuffed up and over-bunched on the wrong pegs. Still wanted 20 a pop. Buying one would've been like eating caviar out of a dumpster. Well said! I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Wave 3 of the 6" Black Series. Some e-tailers show them as coming late January, but others have it late February. So far Amazon only has a few up for pre-order, and they're all cases. I only want Bespin Luke and the Stormtrooper. I'm going to try and find them at retail first, but these are must haves and I'll pay a few dollars more on-line if I have to.

I bought a BS Darth Vader for my nephew for Christmas that had a bubble that had to be taped on.
