I bought these two Imperial Universal Monsters figures at a flea market recently. Honestly, I have never seen these figures in person but I have seen pictures of them in books and I never much cared for them. I collect Universal Monster figures but I never really have given these much thought. Then I saw them in person at the flea market and that changed my mind about these. However, I was hesitant to buy them initially due to the heavy paint wear on their heads. I could live with the more minor paint wear on their hands and noses.

I had recently read a description for an item someone was selling on ebay and the seller mentioned they touched the item up with a sharpie. After my initial hesitation about these two figures, a light bulb went off in my head about me doing the same with these so I slapped down my $20 for these(plus the Mummy)and I went on my way. This is them after my low tech touch-up. I feel it improved their looks a little bit at least.

I even touched-up Frankenstein's left eye and eyebrow. You almost can't tell anyone did anything to them .

Run into these guys every now and again. I believe they were originally sold loose with just a tag around the figure which probably didn't help with the paint wear even in the store.

They have a campy quality to me, like they come right off the cover of a 1960s comic book or something. Frankenstein's head needs to be bigger. I also like them because they are the only line I can say I have a complete collection of .
