toynewsi.com//news.php?itemid=20276It could be true, although Figures Inc hasnt said anything about it on there website yet. If the quality's good, how many here would be interested in a retro line like this or did you have enough with the Retro action's?

I like Megos but I just don't see these catching on with kids or collectors these days. Newer action figures have just come so far with sculpting and articulation. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure many collectors may be interested in these, but I just don't see it lasting long. Mego really is one of the most influential and important toy lines of all time. I loved my older cousins Megos as a kid.

I don't collect much superhero stuff but having the originals as a child these would take me down memory lane a bit. The hobby doesn't seem to me like it's as strong as it was over 4-5 years ago and back so the price point could be a prohibitive factor.

The REH stuff interests me, but I'd still rather try to scoop up an original Conan sometime than just outright buy a replica, there doesn't seem as much excitement in simply purchasing a new copy of an older Mego. Certainly am curious to see Solomon Kane.

I figure it makes them more easily available to those who have become discouraged looking for certain characters.
I'm still looking for an Conan so I'm fine with a replica at $25 bucks (an original complete usually goes for more than twice that). The R.E.H. new figures are what im mostly interested in to. The TV Batman might be a really good line just going by the pics.
Retro Action is what got me interested in Megos again. Mattels problems with the line was discouraging but I liked them quite a bit.
I wish they would put out a fantasy line using these types of figures, but Conan and friends is a good choice.

How about if they brought back the Super Powers line? I wouldn't mind if they did that. As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate the super power feature of the figures. As a kid, they just seemed to interfere with play.

New Megos will have somewhat of a following but i don't think it would be huge. But yes, all new Super Powers characters built just like they were back in the day, I agree those would be really cool!

I bought a Retro Action Batman because I couldn't afford a mint Mego. This will be a far superior alternative and I will gladly buy any other Batman characters, except the '66 ones. Why not them? Because I think DC is getting waaaaay over their head with that license and allowing too many companies to produce stuff for it. I'll stick with my original plan to buy Mattel with those.

I wouldnt mind seeing a re-release of the Superpowers to. The only thing with them though is I would like to see them EXACTLY as they were originally made.

The main thing I dislike about Megos/megolike are the price points. Most of the original Megos I have were bought in pieces and rebuilt overtime. I have no problem whats so ever with reproductions. Its a relief, really.
I will buy some of the figures that Ive been really wanting like riddler and conan but at that price point I would like to keep my concentration for the most part on vintage lines Im into like MOTU.

I know what you mean. The only reason I have certain 8 inch scale Trek figures like the Romulan are Diamond Select reproductions.

Those retro Green Lanterns and Ghost Busters figures, made like the Mego figures, are still pegwarming. I can't see this getting far.

Those retro Green Lanterns and Ghost Busters figures, made like the Mego figures, are still pegwarming. I can't see this getting far. The Mattel bodies tend to be floppy and a little different (same idea, but done differently than Megos). Add that and bad distribution, the Retro Action didnt really stand a chance. They should not have released on those versions of Green Lantern either. Its more of a Mattel fumble I think. I like the 8'' format because I think they display well but younger people have just become so accustomed to the smaller formats now that I doubt Mego-like figures will be able to regain wide spread popularity again.

Boss Hogg should be shorter and more rotund, not the same as the others.

The original Mego Boss Hogg looks better, IMO. Figures Inc. is improving. I'm sure these 12'' wont be easy on the wallet though. There will also be 8'' version of these to I heard.
That is a good point about the sizes. Very rarely does anybody take into account one characters size in relation to another. Its the same problem with Robin in relation to a Mego Batman

I fondly remember shopping for and playing with my vintage Mego dolls back in the day. I had Batman, Robin, Spider-Man and Superman. So knowing these are exact replicas, I'd pick those up again for nostalgia sake. Mainly because I'd rather spend the significant $$ vintage Megos (with or without replica accessories) go for on other toy lines I'm interested in.
As for the viability of the line....it's a gamble and I'd be surprised if it went past the 2 or 3 Batman related series that they seem to have planned. They're being marketed to adult collectors, but you never know.
As for the 1966 line...I wished I could have merch from them as a kid and I've been dying to get some since I started collecting. However, I am not an 8" or 12" doll collector, so I'll be sticking to the entire standard action figure line and perhaps some oddball merch that pops up.

Ive hoped for a long time that something like this would be done. I'm well aware myself of Mego-like figures limited appeal in the market place BUT theres so cool looking to me.
I hope that they are good quality and that they are given a chance. Retro actions problems did kind of hurt figures in this format though.

For my two cents worth, I have three 8 inch Kiss retro cloth figures by Figures Inc. and I am a little disappointed in the very fragile bodies. I realize these figures are more for collectors than kids that are going to be taking them outside having wars with them but I feel the Emcee Mego-type bodies are at least made a little better. I have the Gene, Paul, and Ace from the Love Gun series and I was planning on perhaps trying to obtain a few more of them in different outfits as they come out but after experiencing the I would have to say cheapness of the bodies' construction the most I'm planning on obtaining is perhaps the Love Gun Peter Criss to have one of each of the whole band. The Figures Inc. figures are just a tad more expensive than the Emcee product so I would expect at least the same quality of product. I can't make a comment on the 12 inch dolls as I haven't purchased any of those.

I'm only familiar with their older bodies and those were sometimes pretty bad. The newer ones are suppose to be a bit better. Hopefully, the brittleness is gone and they will become better as time goes on.
On their website they have it where you can get some of the Kiss parts seperately now. A original body or Emcee body would probably be more poseable and durable. The Figures. Inc bodies do make good custom fodder though.
