Hey folks,
Thought I'd open up a thread about this. Does anyone here collect the short lived Star Wars Micro Collection sets? While not truly action figures, these were some very well made toys. Because of this and the fact that the line was short lived, they are a very appealing collectible to myself.

I do not currently collect them but I want to at some point in the near future. I am just waiting to find a good deal on a bunch of them. My favorite playset is the hoth world, just so much happening in this one.

There were 3 different worlds. 2 of the worlds had 3 sets, and Hoth (the 3rd world) had 4 sets. There was also 4 micro vehicles and even an exclusive mail offer set of micro figures. These sets were extremely well made and they were modular too! So you could swap them around into different configurations. Here are some awsome articles on the short lived line, including info on planned but unproduced sets: www.toysrgus.com/images-toys/micro/www.toysrgus.com/images-micro/amantea-article.htmlI've heard rumors that Hasbro might be trying to do a new line similar to this one! With dicast figures and everything.

I collect this line, as do a good many vintage collectors. Personally, i fimd the prototypes from the Micro line to be very appealing and have been buying a few of the 4 Ups as well.

I scored a complete boxed Death Star World a few months ago from a guy who sold me his childhood collection. I also got the mail away "Build Your Own Armies" figure set as well. Kinda got me hooked on trying to pick up the other sets now. Anyone know which set is the priciest of them all? Might as well start at the top

The vehicles especially the Falcon are much harder to find than the playsets, in my opinion though the Hoth world is the best set that they made.

I agree, the Hoth World is by far my favorite. I passed on a loose complete set earlier this year at a local Flea Market. Probably should have bought it though I can't remember what the guy was asking for it. I'm sure I skipped it because of to high a price.

Just got in one of the smaller Bespin sets in a trade with Hairybeastman. I am well on my way into this line. I will have to post some pics when I get a chance.

I used to have a couple of the bespin playsets and I've just happened across two more parts in a few lots of Joe parts, one goes to Hoth and I think the other might be from the death star (not really sure though)

I collected the Micro collection playsets. I had the Hoth & Bespin worlds. I still have most of the figures. It was a pity that the Millennium Falcon was exclusive to Sears.

I got a couple of the micro collection pieces. I have a complete Bespin World and Death Star World, Diecast Millenium Falcon and Twin Pod car, and a nice JC Penny exclusive Rebel Snowfighter, it came with 2 diecast pilot figures that are pretty cool. It also blows apart like the X-Wing one.
I got a great deal on the Death Star World (50 bucks US) and it even came with the foam garbage that goes in the compactor. I swear this kid must have never played with the thing because the figures look like new.

The Die cast Falcon and Twin Pod cloud car are not actually part of the Micro collection, they are part of the die Cast series, which was a really well done line of vehicles, the Star Destroyer even had a mini Corvette that went in the docking bay.

Thanks for the clarification, they are really nice. I'd love to have that Star Destroyer and the Y-Wing with the bomb. Maybe someday soon if I find one for the right price! I have some newer 'mirco-machines' stuff from the mid 90's but it just doesn't compare to the vintage!

ya I know the feeling, The TIE Bomber from this line is really rare and there are two versions of Vaders TIE, the one with the smaller wings is very rare and expensive

I originally thought this to be the micro machines collection...I actually have the Death Star World micro playset. I especially like the little trash compactor room with the little foam pieces.
