I picked up two auctions today from a seller in Argentina. They were both bootlegs from the Guerreros Del Manana line, and one of them was a repaint of the Tiger from the Galaxy Warriors Line, but the other I can't place what it's from orginally. Is this an argentinan home grown sculpt, or is this mold from another bootleg in the states?

"Guerreros" means "Warriors", right? What does "Del Manana" translate to? Very cool toy, but the printing on that box-GAAA!!

Also does anyone have a link to more pictures of this line?

I paid $35 for it, but I'm positive you could get one for less than that if it came on ebay again. $35 was the starting bid and I only went for it because it was a display only piece. I found another of the tigers on an argentinan auction site that's going for $4 right now so I know I overpaid a bit.

no the line is actually quite big. if you consider all figures made under the title. there are at least 3 differnt waves. plus the guerreros run which again with at least 10 different figures.

I think I've finally got all the vehicles for this line (at least from what it says on the package) Here are Zarpatig, Reptilus and Spunmoster: The missile launcher on Spunmoster actually works. I like how these things look but if I was a kid and got these as toys I'd be fairly disappointed. If any of you have ever been to the museums or zoos where they have the molded toy you can watch being made after you put your quarters in, well that's the quality of plastic on these guys. I'd say any kind of rough play would break these things. They're just a bit more sturdy than a plastic bag. Fotunately I got these all sealed. The boxes they came in had no inside protection, the parts were just flopping around in the box

Sweet mother of all that holy! That is some bad printing on those boxes! How do you let the magenta get that far off? Is it just me, or do the boxes remind anyone else of Centurions? That Spunmonster is super cool.

Those dinosaur sculpts were bootlegged here in the late 80s, You can still find them loose without the saddle and without the face paint. I had two before I cleaned out my attic and sold them to kiddies. This was it, far right.

Nice, I was wonderin about that reptilus sculpt. And Zatarag was originally the tiger sculpt from the galaxy heroes line. Anyone know where the Spunmoster sculpt originally came from?

spun monster is based off of the landshark and windraider from motu. the line also did another amalgam with the dragonwalker and bashasaurus.

I have a bunch of carded Guerreros Kamalion figures, they are pretty cool lookin' from far away, but when you look up close, man is the paint job and plastic quality rough looking. Haven't opened one up to check it out first hand though. To bad they weren't of better quality.
Anyone know if the dino and tiger are made of solid hard plastic, or are they made of a softer plastic and hollow inside?

For me, bootlegged figures from Mexico or the South American region are touchy. I kinda dig the ones that are at the halfway mark between total crap and kinda nice. Now, there is one specific line of bootlegs based of of 80s fantasy figures I've been interested in. That line is Guerreros del Manana...or Warriors from Tomorrow (or whatever the Heck...you get the drift). They seem to use elements from many 80s fantasy toy line including Thundercats, Galaxy Warriors/Fighters, the Remco molds and even some seemingly original parts. I recently got two of 'em. One is obviously based of of Slithe from Thundercats. They repositioned his head to perch atop his shoulders as opposed to having it outward and hunkered down. They also added a third eye and gave him a crab claw...nice. I don't know the character name for sure, but he has a "brother" with the same body and an original head design. The other guy is a character called Dr. Kwyzan, I believe. I'm not sure if these guys are good or evil...might not be either, for all I know. I think he was supposed to have a chest harness. The body is a Remco wrestler/warrior, and the helmet seems to be based of of War Dog from Galoob's Infaceables line. The arms may be modified from something else. They may be spliced Mantech pieces (I have to look into that). The head is seemingly original. The backs: You can see they lopped off the tail on the Slithe mold. It seems the company that made these attempted to put chintzy action features into some of these figures. The Dr. Kwyzan (may not be spelled correctly), has a face switching gimmick. Turn the square knob on the side of his head, and the inner face rotates to reveal a cyclops face. Which one is the "real" or main face? Who knows. I'd love to track down some concrete storyline info on these if possible...and if any exists. This may or may not be some kind of sub-line or brother line to Guerreros del Manana, but here are some examples of Guerreros Kamalion...gotta love those blow mold bootlegs! I think I might be getting sick...whoof...toxic!

Hey, nice call. Cheers for putting this up, Count! I've considered picking up Guerreros del Manana when I've had the chance, but just couldn't bite the Mexican bootleg bullet. Always good to have a write up (at someone else's expense o' course ) Hmm... Dr. Man-E-Infaceables is growing tempting... no, no... must not make eye contact... must look away! Erk! (How many minutes did I just lose staring at space clown face becoming kindergarten picasso cyclops?)

Thanks for the pictures! I definitely like how some of the figures are combinations/based off of other figures around at that time. how good is the plastic quality on these figures?
