Does anyone remember the short lived Food Fighters? Many people hated these and still do. I am the complete opposite. I thought they were super awesome. I had the whole set back in 1989 until they were passed on to my nephews. I have since started collecting them again and am 2 figures, 6 weapons, 1 backpack and 9 vehicle accessories away from the complete set. There was supposed to be a playset released as well, but the figure line got cancelled before it was put out. Anyone else have these? Attachments:

I'm currently building up my food fighters as well mikemic99, htose squad of yours look fine! Still had a complete Burgerdier General and Chip the Ripper (minus is rifle) from my youth to start with. Finding back those had my start collecting them again! Such a zany concept and funny characters. As much as I like them I can see how it didn't last long, but is sure a nice line. It's only as an adult that I discovered that they're were variant on some figure: Chip the Ripper, a chocolate chip cookie (also available as a macadamia cookie) Sergeant Scoop, an ice cream cone (available as chocolate ice cream or sherbet) Short Stack, a stack of pancakes (available with maple syrup or blueberry syrup) I now have them all but still chasing after some weapons. As far as vehicule only got the the BBQ Bomber missing some parts - as I finish a big cleanup of my collection I'll see I aim to get the others (storage place will dictate). I store mine along California Raisins PVC figure, somehow they make the perfect "civilians" to go along the Food Fighters. And I'm also just discovered back McDonalds Changeables, which could by the FF transforming robotic force

drbo...I have an extra almost complete Fry Chopper. It's missing 3 pieces. 1 hot dog landing leg, 1 can bomb and the control console. I also have 7 extra figures. Also, in regards to the variants...there is also a Major Munch with a strawberry glaze.

I have all the figures, and the orange ice cream variant. I need a few backpacks and weapons though, and eventually the other 3 variants and the vehicles.

I like those, they are quite cool. But I don't think I'll ever start collecting them though. Thanks for the pictures! I don't think I knew they also released vehicles for them.
And kudos to drbo for mentioning the McDonalds Changeables! Haha. I have one of the burgers somewhere, hadn't thought about him in years.

I remember one fateful birthday when these first came out I got a few as gifts and was supremely bummed. Now I can see their charm but then I found them completely lame. Funny what ends up being collectable.

I remember one fateful birthday when these first came out I got a few as gifts and was supremely bummed. Now I can see their charm but then I found them completely lame. Funny what ends up being collectable. I kind of liked these toys as a kid, but they were far from favorites. I've since grown to really like them, mainly because they are so odd and ridiculous. I dont think they sold very well back in the day. I specifically remember going to a toy store in my hometown as a kid, maybe aroud 6-8 months after these initially came out, and they had tonnes of them on clearence for like .45 cents. I can't remember if i bought any then, but i wish now that i filled up a shopping cart and stored them in a box for myself to enjoy in the future
