The main 5 heroes have been showing up in Dollaramas over the last few months. Not sure if they turned the machines back on for these over in China, or just came across an old train-car full of them. Still cool to see these at retail again.

I'm always sort of tempted to get into these and pick them up for cheap. They're on Ebay everyday in the UK. C'mon, they're upright walking kangaroos. What's not to like.

Yes, these are the kangaroos from Warriors of Virtue. A great movie (IMO). I watched it with my kids the other day. They could have done better with the toys though.

I remember the movie coming out but have never watched it. Is it worth a download?

Yes! I have the whole set of these figures!
They are from the movie Warriors of Virtue which was in theatres in 1997. I loved that film as a kid!
There were 5 Kangaroos, called Roos I think, each with their own ability.
The figure left in your photo with red on his outfit is "Chi" and he used Fire as his weapon. Chi - Warrior of Fire, Virtue of Wisdom
The figure right is "Yee" and he used Metal as his weapon. Yee - Warrior of Metal, Virtue of Righteousness

There's also a few villains(4 I think), and 3 'good' humans, plus two other good beastmen.
The 1st movie is OK, the 2nd is a megaturd (roos aren't even in it).

These look pretty innocent & funny, the whole roo thing just makes me wish there were some Tank Girl figures out there. That carded evil chick is great (I'm assuming she's bad), and the sample text card is quite a 'classy' acquisition too.

I am thinking back to stuff I used to have and I'm looking for help to see if anyone remembers what this toy line was called. Actually, the name of the toy line is probably the name of the movie these came from. What I remember: A)this line came out in the late 90s B)the movie didn't do well C)it featured characters that were in robes with animal-like faces D)the figures were about 6 or 7 inches E)I believe the figures went straight to places like Big Lots & KB Toys F)the theme of the movie and figures was definitely a fantasy theme. I recall I bought the whole set of these at Big Lots as I was buying nearly every figure in sight in those days. I can see one or two of the figures in my mind, but I can't come up with anything as far as names go.

Aha! That sounds familiar, I'll do some research to make sure but as soon as I read that it set off a bell or something. Thanks, I'll bet that's what it was! Yep, those are it. I don't know why I couldn't think of that but I had a block or something.

After doing some looking around, it's obvious these don't have a big collector following and that's almost kinda too bad because they are interesting looking, well done figures. I didn't happen to notice what company did these figures but I feel the same thing goes for the figures Kenner did for the Shaquille O'Neal superhero movie Steel in 1997. I understand the movie sank like a cinder block but the figures were done well. Looks like a company called Play'em did the Virtue figures. I don't recall hearing about that company so maybe the figures not doing so good did them in. I may have to try to get a copy of the movie Warriors Of Virtue. I read some online reviews and to say they're mixed is a slight understatement. For every 2 people that pan it, there are 3 that praise it and vicea versa. The reviews make you wonder if these people are all watching the same movie. At any rate, the figures are interesting looking. I might try to pick up a few along the way.
