I went to some garage sales with the wife today as a couple of towns around us were having city wide sales. These two items I picked up at the very first one we went to. There were another Big Jim doll or two plus a Mego 8 inch Action Jackson and Lt. Uhura plus a nine inch Jesse James doll(can't recall the company on that one)but most of them were in such bad condition(missing limbs, appenadages, etc)that even the clothes couldn't be salvaged to take off the dolls to sell. This Big Jim was the best of the bunch as his clothes are in pretty good shape but he has real loosey goosey limbs. The POTA game was $5.00 and Big Jim was $1.00, so I guess that wasn't too bad. Unfortunately it was beginner's luck as I found nothing in the action figure realm the rest of the day.

Nice score, it is pretty tough to find some of this older stuff at garage sales nowadays (at least in my neck of the woods). I have that POTA game as well!

Is there any market for Big Jim stuff by Mattel? In particular the later 004 Spy/Espionage stuff and the final Space/Future series? I've got tonnes of stuff from this line when I went through a massive phase of liking it and buying it, especially boxed figures from the rarer final years made for the European markets...
Anyone collect them here? Or should I just slam them onto ebay?

I have been thinking about starting to collect the spy and space series. They are fairly collectable on ebay.

I have noticed them becoming a bit rarer on eBay.

I have a number of the regular vehicles, playsets and such that I bought locally over the years. They are pretty bulky and do take up quite a bit of space.
The PACK figures are pretty cool, probably the best sub-series in the line.

Hey everybody, I got a question for the Canadians. You might help. I found in 2012 a PACK Lazervette in a Canadian box (written in French + English). Do some of you know about some other canadian boxed vehicule from the PACK line ? (Howler, The Beast, or even Swamp Patrol ?) I always am in need of information about the canadian part of the BIG JIM line so if you have any (even non-PACK) please share. Edit : here's my box

They were all purchased locally so more than likely are. I suppose they are if they have the writing on them in French as well?

That's the point. If they are written in both French AND English they are Canadian variants. Usually Canadian boxes have the mention "printed in Canada". This is what I have on my Lazervette.

I picked up the gorilla from the Big Jim line only for the fact it was intended to be Gygor in the MOTU line, but never made it to production.

Nice collection kashyyyk ! Is your back of your Fishin' Trip Set box in English only too ? I'm asking because I know somme boxes which present an English facing but the back is in both languages. Very nice skiing outfit by the way. A hard to find one. I can try finding what you miss for the Condor Patrol. Let me know whats lacks in your box. This vehicule came in the last years of the toyline and are quite commun around here.
