I have a question that may sound dick-ish, but its truly not intended to be.
Why is it when someone posts, say an ID thread, and if I post an answer id'ing what something is followed by "i could use that" or "im interested in that", it gets deleted from the thread. But when a mod does this, it does not?
Ive noticed this a few times over the last few months and most recently with an id'ing of an Underworld Warrior figure.
just wondering. I only ask because I inquired about the UW shield through a PM only to be told it had sold with the figure. Had I posted in the thread what it was and asked that i needed it, it would have been deleted and the person who posted may have never known if I had requested it first.
thanks. and again, im not trying to create bad blood.

Actually it is a fair question. We posted this when the rules were revamped (as a request, not a rule) asking that membershelp the Forum by:
"Refraining from posting unnecessary comments (ie "PM sent" or "LMK if you decide to sell this")."
for people to send their interest in PM's to the owner rather than posting it within the thread. Noone wants to read of someone's interest in another's items. They are there to look at what has been posted and to help ID the item in that instance. If it is a Sale/Trade or Buy thread, interest should be conveyed that way. Interest in items in the General section should be handled that way also.
I should have asked the Mod to delete it and have him send a PM, but didn't, so lay the blame on me.

I edited everyone else's expressions of interest out, I should have done something about his also.
The rules apply to everyone (yes, even the Admin). When I went through all of the threads, s many of them started off well, then seemed like most of them got to be a conversation like:
"Nice Fleabag. I could use it if you don't need it."
"OK, You got a trade list?"
"Yeah, but it's outdated. Give me some time to get it back in line."
"Ok, I could really use a Dipstick if you have one."
And on and on and on for half a page, the thread dies and gets resurrected a year later for one comment.
"Hey I had one of those when I was a kid."
and it dies for another year.
And someone adds "Yeah, but I had the orange variant."
and it's never touched again. So I weeded out the people expressing interest and cut many of them down to what they should be - discussions on the items value, ID's, other items from the line, etc.
