Hello folks... cool site. I've got an action figure, solid plastic, about 4 inches tall, who's wearing a 60's - 70's white, with bronze helmet, deep-sea diving suit. Or not actually wearing - it's all molded plastic; not cloth clothes. Only movable parts are the arms which rotate at the shoulder.
There's no manufacturer's branding, so I can't pin down who the maker was, or the age. I would throw in a picture of the figure if I knew how to do so, but any suggestions as to ascertaining where this little guy came from?

Sounds like the Fisher Price Adventure People Deep Sea Diver, but the legs should move too. Maybe its an aquarium toy.

Yes, yes, thank you so much! It IS a Fisher Price figure. I looked much closer and found the marking and the date, 1979. And the legs do move. I apologize; I'm going through several old toys and collectibles, and not spending enough time on each apparently to identify them.
This one's quite cool even if it happens to be of little value. Thanks again

Hello all I need your help. When I was a kid our library used to have a toy room where you could check out toys. There was this one awsome toy a boat with 2 divers and a shark. I think that the boat was blue and one of the figures was yellow. The shark was grey plastic or rubber. I would love to know what this toy is and where I can find one.

Wow, I just stumbled onto this thread and now my world is shattered! All along I thought these people were made by tonka! I have a couple of the deep sea divers and also Hawk the guide, I had a tonka sailboat which I thought went along with these! I was wrong all these years argghh!

I believe I had this figure that is in question way back in the day. I think he came with a little brown treasure chest or something. I would fill the kitchen sink up with water, and have deep sea adventures with the figure !

Hi, I've had this figure since I was a kid (I'm 30), but I can't remember what line and/or cartoon it came from! All I remember is that I also had a one-man submarine that you could stick him into - and it actually floated! Any ideas? Thanks!

Looks, like fisher price adventure people to me. I'm pretty sure that's right on,just don't know what sub-series this guy is from. Some users of this site have these in their collections,so an answer probably won't be too far off.

My favorite set from the line was the Sea Explorer. I've seen that thing going for big $$$ on Ebay.

I've got a handful of these figures and vehicles that I've tripped over the last few years...GOOD designs, VERY well constructed for the most part on the vehicles. Tough and well-built.
There was a similar strain of Tonka figures that were a little skinnier.

I was reminded of some toys I had growing up today when I noticed one in a lot on ebay. I used to call these guys "Chip Guys" because they reminded me of the guys on the show "C.H.I.P.S" but I don't know if they were actually related to the show. At any rate, these guys had orange shirts with a white sort of checkered pattern on the chest and usually brown pants and black boots but I had one that had orange pants as well. I had one that Had non posable legs and another that had jointed knees (so he could ride a motorcylce?). Their arms were straight. They both had yellow helmets and green goggles. I think they originally came with a dirt bike of sorts but it was lost early on. I think the guy with the orange "bow legged" legs was probably my most played with toy as a child. I even remember one of the rods that went through his knee broke and I used a bread bag tie to go through the hole and repair the joint. Anyone remember/know what these were called?

This sounds like a fisher price Adventure people guys. Look at this site to and you will see him there. The one from your descriptions sounds to be one of these: #356 Cycle Racing Team #385 Decorated Card #399 Individual Tan Card www.fpclub.org/adventurefigures.htmlI was reminded of some toys I had growing up today when I noticed one in a lot on ebay. Oh yeah those are definitely the "guys" I used to have. Cycling team it must have been. The guy built to ride the motorcycle was infinitely more fun to play with due to his jointed knees and ability to fit on the bike. The other guy was usually just a spectator that sort of stood there. Thanks, shuptrine. I am amazed that you were able to tell what they were from my patchy description.

I had Clawtron and the Cowboy driver to the Jeep with the 5 o clock shadow as a kid...nothing else. But as a kid I did wish I had more. I think Hasbro should bring the line back, it was really good.
