My brother used to collect the comic books, but I never saw the actual cartoon. I have been thinking about getting into this line but would like to get a complete loose collection (or near complete) in one shot. Don't want to pay to much for them either. I think there was 2 dozen figures in this line, i don't know if there were any vehicles

there are vehicles i think about 4. these figures are awesome like beefed up joes. with caps and such. you can get a few of them cheap but there are a few popular guys like bullet proof and a few others that go for more. better to get them carded than loose as the damage to joints is pretty bad. and cap curosion. but still a great line and an awesome show.

I recently came a cross a huge lot of these guys and forgot how freaking rad they were. You had the Cops on the one end. Basically a bunch of futuristic law enforcement officers. There was even a K-9 unit with a robotic dog. Then you had the Crooks on the other end. There were the generic street thugs, a mad scientist, the "Kingpin" type mob boss and even a classic 30's gangster dressed in a fuscia zoot suit complete with violin case and tommy gun!!!! Best toy name ever btw...Buttons McBoomBoom If you don't know, go school yourself here..... copshq.generalsjoes.com/The site even has toy reviews. Good stuff!!! Some of the accessories in the series were a little wonky, considering they had to cram the "cap firing action" in every toy, but the figures themselves were sweet. There were loads of different body molds and sizes, and they were super articulated. Does anyone out there collect these guys? Also, I have some with broken o-rings. The look like they are bigger than GI Joe o-rings. Any idea where to find any???

Started collecting the line earlier this year and Daltron helped me out with a few figures. It really is a cool line with quite a few different figures. The vehicles seem to go pretty cheap, though it can be tough to find a nice sized lot of figures with their weapons. The site you posted has some great pics of the unproduced 3rd series!

I'm thinking about jumping into this line but want to start with Bulletproof. I never had him as a kid but the character held a special place in my heart as the first Black character to lead a "super team".
He never seems to come up on ebay - any body have pointers on where I might be able to track one down? I'd like a MOC but will settle for loose/complete since I havent seen any.
Help a brother out.

If you can't find one for cheap, I have a MOC one that I'd part with.

COPS figures are a lot taller than Joes. They average about 6 inches tall.

Scored a Bullet-Proof (thanks to a smooth transaction with Sanfords). Truly a great figure. I may have to invest a bit more in this line now. I got the Cops DVD set recently and have been slowly re-aquainting myself with the series - oddly enough, I like it better now than when I was a kid. Somehow the humor isn't as distracting as when I was a too-cool for school pre-teen. I even found some love for Berserko.

Honestly, I'm surprised at how cheap lots can go for on eBay, compared to other toy lines. You might have to take some time finding the figures, since some of them don't pop up very often, but overall it shouldn't cost too much to get a good chunk of the line. I scored one in a random lot a while a back and after that it was all over, I wanted more. It's a really fun line. There's nothing quite like it when it comes to scale, style, and design.

I *Just* picked up one of these today actually . Buttons McBoom Boom to be specific and indeed ..these kick some major behind.
My first thought was had these come out first instead of 3 3/4'' GI Joes ( i dont collect any line beyond 4'' in height) these might have been as popular as Joes are now (or other top tier lines). My second thought was with regard to poseability.....these guys were loaded for their time. Like the Marvel Legends of yesteryear without being 6'' tall. I was tempted to keep McBoom Boom for myself but unfortunately i dont have anything in his scale to go along with so *shrugs*
Great line...that only makes me appreciate Joes even more. But great line none the less. If Hasbro released a "Gangsters" line McBoom Boom should be rehashed lol.

I picked up 2 cases of the small vehicles at Columbus flea market , still have them in my attic somewhere. They are sweet and cheap, really don't get the credit they deserve.

I've got an incomplete Big Boss and Koo Koo, a complete Roadster with Turbo Tutone, a complete Jailbird Airspeeder and Mint in beat up box Crooks Dragster. If you'd class that as a collection, I'd be happy to take pics.

Just wondering, how come COPS figures command such a premium recently? I remember in 2008 I could get almost any carded figure for roughly 10-20 dollars. Now some of them reach close to 100 a pop. When did this become such a hot line?

Good question, victoryleo. I had a carded Mace which I'd hung onto for a number of years - made 50ish on it when I sold it in 2010, but looking now I could've easily sold it for much more - or maybe just opened it. I know some characters were tough to find when these were released, I got Buttons McBoomBoom for a birthday once, my mother searched like every department store in town & told me she only ever saw the one of him. Most kids I knew just had the same few figures over and over again. Never Bulletproof, never Rock Krusher - always Berserko, always Big Boss.

These guys seem to slowly be rising in price though last I checked was a few years back. I remember a guy on Ebay had a bunch of carded ones in his store years back for $30-$40 each and they sat their forever. Maybe not so much now.

I think we see an ebb and flow with a lot of vintage toys on the secondary market. No surprise that COPS has picked up, as some people look back and realize that the line can still hang with a lot of the modern stuff being put out now. Heck, it's BETTER than a lot of the stuff put out by the big two today.
