Good tread Sanford, I did find this Micronauts ad, but I scanned it a while ago. It was in a Micronauts comics if I remember well, but I may be mistaking for another from the era. I have scanned bunch of toy ad from Marvel comics of the era, mostly Dazzler, Shogun Warrior and Micronauts: Also some French ad from Picsou magazine (Disney's Scrooge McDuck), Pif Gadget and Héritage Comics (which were translation of US comics). One of the cool things of being a French Canadian kid was to get both comics from the US and Europe! Soon, coming to your place, The War of the StarsYou were waiting for them? Here they are!Which ones do you still need? Also posted some in a Rambo tread: i99.photobucket.com/albums/l297/bdbonhomme/Les%20Sketcheurs%20Cosmiques/RAMBO.jpgi99.photobucket.com/albums/l297/bdbonhomme/Les%20Sketcheurs%20Cosmiques/RAMBO_etlesforcesdelalibert.jpgI have to dig them back, but they had these strip like ad from Pif Gadget made with Star Wars figure that were very neat. Stay tuned!

Good stuff Clambo, those Mego are reallty neat. Fun to see the price and figure rendered in comic book style drawing!
Nice ones as well Duke of Crydee. I have the G.I.Joe one in French, but the command is sure more subtle then the giant COLLECT sign!

Since we were talking about it in some other tread and to add to Sanford's scans, here some more ROM Spaceknight goodness:

This ad isn't for an action figure, but I always wanted the Star Trek Phaser Set models in the top of this ad. Thanks to Playmates and Art Asylum,I now have a phaser, communicator and tricorder but I am too old to go out and play with them now. Well,I guess I could but....

I know there was a thread with figures advertised in comic books. I couldn't find it, so here are the only 2 I found in the comic books I own, so far. Remco - Crystar (from Saga of Crystar #1) Remco - American Defense (from Centurions #1) Oddly, not many toy lines are advertised in their own comic books.

Wow, this thread is a huge nostalgia bomb! Especially the "100 pc. Toy Soldier set" ad. I'm particularly fond of the hand-drawn ads, particularly the Buck Rogers/LOTR one. I love that one of the spaceships apparently flew right below Sam, Frodo and Aragorn to get up front.
Also, is it me, or does $3.99 a figure seem kind of steep considering this was around 30 years ago? Modern GI Joe figures go for $6.99 (although I think prices just went up.)

Good idea to revive this tread! here some more: French language G.I. Joe ad from Quebec, Canada (notice Man-at-Amsis riding Battle Cat and Mer-Man on the Wind Raider; I guess it's was like on the package of these toys when the cartoon and mini-comics backstory weren't as defined). French language RAMBO ad from Quebec, Canada

This Spiderman ones quite 'cute' and a pretty shoddy early '70s print (adds to the charm)

So like most, I read my fair share of old comics and remember the old toy ads by heart, but somehow never stopped on Gre-gory before. Anybody ever have this critter? First I ever saw of him last night. (in Conan the Barbarian, No. 113, August 1980) FWIW. Decent review on Youtube here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmDNCBha0MI

Here is my contribution to the thread, one close to my heart. I enjoyed all the posts in this thread(except maybe the Popples, no offense)and I have no recollection of having or seeing the ad of "Gre-gory" but I probably at least saw the ad as I was buying comics at that time. Very interesting stuff.

Very interesting stuff. Yeah, I was kind of trolling with the Popples lol. Cool entry with the Star Trek. I was also surprised by not recognizing Greg-Gory, so it was a good excuse to revive this great thread.

Haha that Trek ad is great. "Treckie" is hilarious. And "galactical"... Dealers never get Ilia right. Usually they spelled it Llia, but this guy did Illia At least he didn't say Dr. Spock.

I have also noticed that on occasion someone not familiar with Trek on ebay will try to sell a Decker figure and will call him Captain Kirk. I guess I could understand that, with the yellow outfit. I get a little giggle when someone refers to Spock as "Dr." Spock. This is probably in the top ten of my favorite threads.
