I'm slowly getting into the Super Gobots line lately. Not to hardcore on it yet,but I have picked up a few here and there. These figures are really under-appreciated as they are right on par with most of the Transformers that were being put out at the same time. There still pretty affordable MIB on Ebay to!

Gobots are easily one of my favorite toy lines ever. Many TF guys tend to snub their noses at Gobots, but I've grown to love em. The diecast metal, quality, and detail, for thier size, always drew me to them. They were like Hot Wheels that turned in to robots.
I'm only missing a few of the US release smaller guys. I have a handful of the Supers and one of these days I'll finish em all off.

Finally started to really get into this line, here's what I have so far: You can bash GoBots all you want, but it really is a quality line. On a side note, I managed to track down a set of 55 episodes of the show. It has its moments, but for the most part, its the standard, childish HB cartoon. It also had the intro for the japanese show which looks completely badass that I wouldn't mind checking out sometime.

I want to get into this line, but it will have to wait until the later end of summer. I am working on so much, it's just too much to fathom, picking up another line. Plus, money is slowly getting tighter. But, they are sweet toys. i happened to get one in a lot of TF's i picked up, and I realized how sweet a toy they were. that is why my interest is back up again.

i think its ironic that transfans dont admit to liking them but a lot of gobots tend to go for a lot(assuming toyfare is accurate)

I have the navy blue dive-dive, from the Gobots line. Now, super toy archive's page about dive-dive states that there are no variants of this figure, but I have a grey one as well. Here is toy archive's page. www.toyarchive.com/Gobots/Regular/DiveDive.htmlany ideas to where this grey one is from and who made or makes it? I can post pics if necessary. Thanks.

Good be a knock-off, allot of companies ripped off many of the Gobots characters, some looking near exact while others with different colors.

That's what I suspect, but don't know who made it. The underside is molded a little different on the grey one on underside. I will post a pic soon, maybe that will help. Thanks though.

Damn just looking at the pics of some of those lesser known Gobots bring back memores since I actually had alot more than I realized
Tux, Vamp, Geeper Creeper, Dive Dive, and Creepy are the ones that I had when I was a little kid. Tux and Geeper Creeper I played with alot along with Dive Dive. Then over the years those guys just disappeared when I had to move to a different town. In fact about half of the good stuff that I had for action figures and stuff just disappeared all the time or got thrown away when me and my family kept moving around during the 80s

I use to get alot of gobots from family members. At the time I was always annoyed because I would always point out that i liked Transformers NOT crappy old gobots! LOL As time has gone by I have a much better opinion of them. Some of them are actually rather cool. So, whats everyones favorite gobot? Did anyone actually LIKE the cartoon series? My favorite gobot is that super gobot that i cant remember the name to. He was a porche. I liked leader 1 to. I remember very litte about the cartoon, I want to see it again.

I totally love Pathfinder, I thought the futuristic hovercar look was a lot cooler than normal cars and jets.

You guys remember Puzzlier? That was their answer to devistator and the giant combining transformers. Gobots really seem much better to me now that im older. Maybe its because the new transformers seem kinda lackluster?

We used to have a couple of these and I was pretty young when transformers and gobots came out so I don't think I really knew the difference or cared. I know I had Cy-kill and another guy the same size in red. I remember they had a lot of metal in them kind of like a matchbox but some parts came completely off and therefore were lost after a while. I can still hear the show in my head: the go-bots, the goo-bots, the goooo-bots.. dah dah dah dahhhh. If I saw one of these at a flea market I would definitely spring them it but I wouldn't buy one online but that goes for t-formers as well so not saying much.

I've got the green/grey/black 2nd issue of Cy Kill - he looks far more villainous but the red/white/blue versions iconic. I still think the marketing done for Robo Machine was far better than Tonka's GO BOTS...it was rubbish compared to Bandai's Robo Machine or Machine Robo (Japan) lines...

Hey guys, here's a bunch of GoBot material I put together for a toy forum that disappeared a couple of years ago. While Tonka was the prime manufacturer of GoBots in the United States, the toys originated in Japan and were made by Bandai, who retained their corporate identity on product sold outside the U.S. Raizor, one of the Super GoBots transformable robots of die cast metal and plastic construction, was made in Singapore by Bandai and packaged for sale in France (box copy is in French). It is item number 0305517. Released in 1985, this “Robo Machine” stands 5¼ inches tall. It transforms into a jet fighter with rotor blades – sort of an F-4 Phantom II with a helicopter back pack! The robot comes packed in a colorful box that measures 5 x 7½ x 3 1/8 inches. The front flap opens to reveal addition art of a robot battle scene. Unfortunately, the box shown is in terrible condition, having suffered extensive water damage and deterioration. The front flap has been punched through leaving a ragged hole in the art. The paperwork consists of instructions, a sheet of stick-on labels and a mini catalog. As with the Transformers, there were many GoBots items made by companies other than the prime toy manufacturers. One such line was a series of four transformable plastic robot premiums made by the May Chewing Gum company of France. The toys came on blister cards that measured 5½ x 8¼ inches, and each came with seven gum balls. I obtained three of these four GoBots in early1987, so I would expect that the initial release was made in 1986. Included are: DP002 Leader 1 – Jet Fighter, 3⅞ inches long. RV003 Cy-Clos (Cy-Kill) – Motorcycle, 3 inches long. DD004 Demo – Race Car, 3 inches long. The fourth was the race car, Turbo, which I never owned. Here are some advertisements for various GoBots products. These ads appeared in toy and hobby industry trade magazines in 1984 and 1985.

I've been considering picking up a Psycho super Gobot on Ebay since I fondly remembering having one as a kid and taking him to school. I thgink that's the only Gobot I had, after that it was all Transformers, but I DID have him first if I remember correctly.

Cool ads, especially the "Gobots Are Here" one. The ad looking like that makes you really think they could compete against Transformers.
The Super Gobots are worth picking up, they fit in nicely with most G1 TFs.

I always liked Gobots mainly because of Water Walker and Cy-Kill. Those guys were super cool to me and they fit in great with my Transformers (and even M.A.S.K). I have a small collection of Machine Robo toys and I hold them in high regards when it comes to favorite childhood toys.

It is item number 0305517. Released in 1985, this “Robo Machine” stands 5¼ inches tall. That's part of the Go-Bots, just like the early Transformers, that I really like: die-cast metal and plastic. I really like the idea of Hot Wheels / Matchbox sized car (with metal part just like those) that turned into robots. I have really fond memory of Tank (the blue, blocky space tank guy), the first transforming toy I ever got. He still look big, clunky and much fun today. I recently purchased a Go-Bots collector case with a small collection to store it properly (I still have it from my youth). Alongside the Go-Bots I also stored - sorry if it bums some purist - McDo Changeable (aka McRobots) for small tranforming robots fun sake Many thanks for sharing this, fun robot art on there! My childhood favorite along Tank was Hans Cuff, the police car guy, and I remember getting the orange bulldozer which I really liked.
