I've held off on collecting GoBots basically because I don't need something else to spend money on. I know everyone bashes them now, but as a kid, they were just as popular as Transformers among my friends. They had some very nice figures too.

I usually pick them up here and there and with lots of Transformers. I have about a dozen from when I was a kid as well. I think I will try and trade for some more on some of the Transformers message boards.

i admit when we were kids gobots werent as frowned upon as they are now. i watched the show all the time i tried really hard to win the gobot collection from nestle quik. but that never happened. one of my fondest memories was going to corner store and getting a sword of omens with a green eye(short version) god i wish i could find one of them now...but anyway the corner store also had m.r. bots now at the time i didnt really care what that ment they were gobots. it wasnt until my teens that i found out that in japan they were called machine robo or M.R. and thier number. if you look at the markings on your gobots you'll see m.r. and a number. so all that time as a kid i was getting japanese gobots for a buck a piece. even darq saint here on the forum remembers getting mr bots from stores around his grandmas house. so you can imagine how many gobots i had shit they were only a buck and as a kid i used to get up real early and collect cans and cash them in at the korean store up the block. sorry im rambling its just been a long day... but ok flash to the year 2000 me, my friend darqsaint and our friend vic started doing these short films about gobots standing trial for the actions of thier lame marketing team and sucky show. it these shorts one a year a gobot would burn on a covenant of primus (transformer bible) we did this for a few years at each botcon. they got sillier and sillier as they progressed sadly our friend vic has the tapes somewhere in the abyss of his room. that last year we tried we planned big with plot and stopmotion involving loco the train gobot trying to get a job from the train godfather raiden. but sadly it never happened for many unimportant reasons and loco never died so i decided to give a few good gobots a chance and let them stay in my house

You know, I passed up buying that Gobot playset so many times over the years.... and now I want it! Maybe I can find one at the Flea Market this weekend.

I always thought the Gobots were great. I also remember them not costing as much as the t-formers---- i could be wrong. I had some of the small ones and one bigger one. It was a green tank.To me it was one of my fav. toys for several yrs. Does any one remember that tank--- think he was one of the bad guys??? I aslo had th ebig command center. It turned into a robot itself. That was an awesome Christams gift for me.

I finally decided to take the plunge and start collecting these. Theres a ton of them out there but I've noticed you can pick them up pretty cheap because people don't know what they are and list them simply as car transformer or something similar. Most of them didn't come with weapons, so that also makes things alot easier when buying. So far I have: Scratch Spay-C Leader-1 Heat Seeker Stallion Fitor Geeper Creeper Tank Water Walk Night Ranger Good Knight Mr.Moto Crossword
I have to say, I've really gotten into them. The quality is up there with Transformers and collecting them has made me realize just how many of these I had as a kid.

Theres also a ton of knock-offs out there. When I was a kid I saw more knock-off figures in the stores than actual Gobots!

I remember seeing tons of Transformer and GoBots knockoffs when I was a kid. I remember begging my parents to buy me a recolor Devestator gift set we saw at the mall, but they wouldn't budge because it was "the cheap version".

Gobots are awesome! Most are dirt cheap and fairly well designed for what they are. I have the Command Center, Thruster, and 75% of the US release bots. I collect them, I admit it! Now, I wouldn't spend any real $$$ on them, like shelling out $30 for a Snoop, but I have no problem if the price is right.

I am on the same page as you with Gobots. I don't shell out to much money but pick them up when i can. Trying to concentrate on the Super Gobots right now.

A quick Go-bot question....
I know that red Tail Pipe is one of the hardest US releases, but is the black version that hard to find? I scored one w/ full card for $7. Does this sound like a good deal?

Heh, sounds like everyone has the same idea, I like what I have and pick them up cheap when I can. Don't seem to be able to make myself pay much for them though, even for the few I'd really like.

I just picked up the Gobots cap gun pistol over the weekend at a garage sale. Can't go wrong for the $0.25 I paid!

Well I've been slowly increasing my Gobot collection but Cy-kill is starting to get on my nerves I just can't seem to find the small version at a decent price (or at all most of the time). The Super Gobot Cy-kill seems to grow on trees around here, I've got two junkers and a good one in job lots in the last few months (still have mine from when I was a kid) but the little b@stard just keeps eluding me. I'll only display it in robot mode so I'm not even that worried about a complete one. I never managed to get one a a kid either, so I'm begining to wonder if this is my toy nemesis On the plus side I do finally have Tank on the way, anyone have his weapons to trade?

I feel you Gort. I'm getting to the point were I can't find much I need anymore for reasonable prices. A Cy-kill really shouldn't be that hard....but it's always something, isn't it I'm pretty sure all I need at this point is a white Crasher, a green Cy-kill, a red Tail Pipe, one of the jets, the green mail-in Creepy, and a few of the Monstrous guys to have all of the small US releases.

this was like way back in the 1980s when I was a little kid. I had this locomotive robot which i had like twice. It was made from cheap plastic and the figure was a pretty puny about the size of a G.I. Joe. Then I had this weird crab creature robot that turned from robot into a purplish claw monster of sorts

Sounds like those to me too Kyle, except uru said that the train was made of cheap plastic and my Loco is more diecast (with cheap paint). Could the train have been a Remco KO?

GoBots is a tough show to find bootlegs of because it hasn't been shown on tv in years(that I know of) and no one has had a chance to record it and put a set together. You can always pick up vhs tapes off of ebay for dirt cheap. I'll browse through some of show trading/selling websites I have bookmarked and see if I can find anything.

the rock lords movie is good. i like it better than the show but i really liked the show too. i dog the line out a bit but i still know deep inside that i like gobots. their like a step child. the show in japan is alot more serious than here and they had weapons unlike here where they shot beams from thier hands the main cast in the japanese show was different also the main 2 guys insted of cykill and leader-1 its screwhead and fitor.anyone who hasnt watched machine robo should definatly check it out.
