Anyone collect the 3 3/4" Remco Sgt. Rock figures? I have a few loose ones that are pretty cool. How many figures were released in that line? I also believe that the "Bad Guys" series was part of the Sgt. Rock line. Anyone got any pics?

I've got some old pics out of old Christmas catalogs. I didn't think the line lasted long enough to have that many figures

Yeah, I wonder how many were in the series. I got a bunch of weapons that I know aren't from Joes so I was wondering if they were from the Sgt. Rock line. I own a couple of the figures, I think, as Remco made allot of Joe knockoffs.

I had a ton of these guys when I was a kid & they are kinda hard to come by now for some reason. There seemed to be quite a few of them because they would do simple repaints (I think that Sgt. Rock was repainted & dubbed marine)The bad guys were the villians...I had Scorpion,Grizzly,Hammerhead, & a few more bad guys...They were alway wearing black.Pretty cool line back in the day.

I remember reading the Sgt. Rock comic as a kid. Were there any other "specific" characters from the book made as figures, or did they all just have general names?

i never really cared for sgt rock the figures werent poseble enough they were like if plastic army men reproduced with a starwars figure. remco's american forces was cool though even though all the figures hands look like spocks live long and prosper

Yes.I had a night landing type raft (not the gi Joe one) & there were cheap plastic bunkers made of earth & sandbags in molded plastic.Seems like there was a jeep & tank too but I'm not sure about that.

I do remeber Sgt.Rock but most of the other soldiers (not the bad guys) had really generic names like Air man,Karate master,Marine,etc....There may have been a couple more with names but for the most part you had to have the old Sarge screaming,"Karate master, help Air man out!"

Did some searching around and came up with a list of figures, playsets & vehicles that were released. If I missed anything or listed something that wasn't produced, LMK. There are a few items I have never seen before (though i haven't been looking to hard or for to long). FiguresAirman Chutes Cowboy Doc Green Beret Gunner Gyrene The Instructor Leatherneck Mack Marksman Military Police Raider Ranger Sgt Rock Snow Force Special Forces Tanker PlaysetsAction Playcase Forward Recon Post River Commando Patrol Action Machine Gun Nest Climbing Assault Unit Airborne Parachute Invader (have never seen this set) VehiclesLEM Attack Command Vehicle ATA Anti-Tank Anti-Aircraft Weapon ATC Amphibious Armored Troop Carrier Track Attack Cat ( have never seen this vehicle) Also found an ad that shows 3 of the vehicles:

Never seen or heard of the Airman, Chutes, Cowboy, Doc, The Instructor, Mack, Military Police, Snow Force, Special Forces, or Tanker. Never heard of the Climbing Assault Unit, Airborne Parachute Invader, or the Track Attack Cat. Could these be from the 12" line? The Bad Guys line also has a whole batch of vehicles not on your list, although you may not consider them Sgt. Rock figures. On the Bad Guys line it says " enemies of Sgt. Rock, G.I.Joe, and M*A*S*H figures". I thought it was funny they included the M*A*S*H figure line, they all have smiles on their faces.

I have collected MOC pics of nearly every figure mentioned above except the Special Forces figure (though I have a pic of a figure whos name sticker came off the bubble, so it could be him). Also have pics of the River Command Patrol, Forward Recon Post, Machine Gun Nest & Climbing Assault Unit.

Isn't that Sgt. Rock? I think he's the only figure released on the old cardback with both arms down. Thanks for posting the pics 10incher.

Also, I thought that the bald guy may have been Chutes. Now that I know he's actually Mack, who is Chutes?

He looks exactlly like Sgt. Rock, but doesn't it look like he is wearing a hat rather than a helmet (the brim is wider). Here is the only pic I could find of Chutes:

I have a few Sgt Rock-ish solid PVC figures. Marked Remco 1982. I assume they are Sgt. Rock/ Bad Guys, since they are done in such a similar style and size. They are one solid piece tho, not poseable. I was hoping to see some in Clambo's giant collection, but no dice. Anybody have an idea or thoughts as to what they are? I'll post a pic later when I have some more time.

The figures in the boxset look more like typical 1/2-2" army men, but it is really hard to tell from the pic. I also noticed that the chopper box had similar figures on it. Maybe they came with that? Here's a pic, shot next to a regular figure. They are the same size, painted and everything...they just don't move.

Yeah, those are different than the ones that come in the set. I too, have seen them on the boxes. I always just assumed they were slapped together for the pics. I'm going to have to do some digging.

Hmmm, I just took a closer look at the chopper on the back of one of your boxes and the 3 figs pictured are in the exact same positions as mine. I'm assuming the Bad Guys had their own chopper as well. After digging a bit more, I did find a black chopper wing and missile in my pile of stuff. I also found the missile launcher thingy in the bottom right corner of the box pic. So I'm guessing these came with the Bad Guys Copter Gunship...maybe? I've never actually seen one before tho

The Bad Guys Chopper is called the "Big Bad Chopper Playset" and is the same, but all black. Have seen a few loose incomplete ones come up on Ebay over the years.

Awesome site, awesome thread! I had a black Bad Guys version of the ATC, still have parts of it... not sure why, but I went through a period of time where I took everything apart. Kinda sucks I also remember getting one of the Bad Guy figures when I first got Short-Fuze, because the Cobra troops weren't available, or maybe they were kind of hard to get at that point.

I believe although I cant confirm with a picture but from what I gather its from the Sgt Rock line that came out under the name of Tough Action Soldiers This is the web site I got my info from www.phryz.com/sgt-rock

its the same figure as "The Instructor" from Sgt. Rock, but that figure is all white, which means this is most likely the "Bad Guys" version (the generic enemes of Sgt Rock) who were repainted in black.
