Anyone remember the Marvel comic book? Well there was also a 13" robot figure produced by Parker Brothers in 1979. He had light up eyes, pulsing chest & backpack lights and could make different sounds including breathing, his jet pack thrusters, and sounds for his energy analyzer, translator and neutralizer. This was one cool toy!

they advertised it in Rom issue 1, thought it would be more like the comic version. I saw one at a vancouver toy show at it was kinda of skinny otherwise it was cool.

i always thought it was ironic the toy flopped but the comic tie in was a big success(even had his own listing in "the official guide to the marvel universe deluxe edition"

I've been wanting to pick up a Rom figure for a long time. I wonder if he's got some ram to go with that rom though?

I had one , it had to go when hard times fell on me , it's an awesome toy with cool sounds and gadgets , also on a strange note I was really into the comic and would go around the house saying ROM,,ROM,, I don't know why, but then that morphed into me calling my Mom ...Rom ,, Which morphed into Rommy, and even today I still will say Rommy sometimes,,,,,

I never read the comic years ago, but I plan to one of these days. Oh, you mean the Dire Wraiths ? Considering how hardcore some of you toy collectors are around here, I figured someone would have mentioned this: It's from this article. It's definitely one of my favorite unproduced modern (post 1990) toys. Here's a picture of my unpainted (but primed) hardcopy. It weighs at least 5 pounds ! -Timothy
