 Inhumanoids second series
« Thread Started on Jan 12, 2007, 3:50pm »

I just got Richard Marcej's book "My artwork and designs at Hasbro 1983-1989" and there was a section on Inhumaniods there (Apparently he did the artwork and packaging for the series) In the book there are two of the pictures he did for the 3 new big monsters and theres a photo of the prototype of Ssslither!

Man, I wish they had released these creatures!

Anyway, just though anyone who likes the series would like to know where they can get pictures of these and many different drawings from other lines. His book is released by Baboon Books.

Oops, I completely forgot about this thread :)

Here's the preview of the book from the publisher's site. a partial color pic of Ssslither

http://www.baboonbooks.com/Comics_Books/Hasbro%20Art%20Book/HAS_preview.htm

For those that couldn't find it to buy I don't know what you were searching. It took me all of about 45 seconds to find the buy link here:

I swear I'll get some pics of the pictures up this time. Originally I was trying to get a copy of the color Ssslither from Mr. Marcej but it seems there were some format problems (Sorry for the year long delay)

Yep, the big reptilian looking thing. Here's the picture of the drawings for Ssslither and another creature as well as a pic of the prototype of the Ssslither toy:

I totally recommend picking up the book, it has all sorts of cool tidbits about the toy artwork back then (Apparently the guy worked on a lot of toys in the 80's :) )

The pic of that prototype looks like it would have been a pretty cool addition to the line. I take it thats the only actual prototype pic though Shogi?

It's the only prototype pic I've ever seen. I totally would have bought that toy too!

Did you talk to him? Does he have any of that artwork left? Someone should send him links to this site, and ask him to post some of what he has.

or someone could interview him.

Don't you think that it's also strange how the original series of Inhumanoids figures do not look like the ones that were released?

Here are some pictures from an advert. Compared to the original release in the shops they are totally different.

Here's another picture of, this time of Tendril. Look at his arms which don't appear to have the same articulation of the original figure.
