Dungeons & Dragons LJN action figures
« Thread Started on May 29, 2005, 1:37pm »

Well I own an almost complete collection and only missing Hawkler, Mandoom, Deeth and a few weapons for others. Oh yeah, I need a Fortress of Fangs and Tiamat as well. I have read on another board that there are 2 different versions of some of the larger figures like the Young Male Titan, Northlord and Ogre King. What exactlyy are the differences? Anyone got pics of the 2 versions side by side to compare? I guess my collection isn't as complete as I thought. :(

Well, I am waiting on my MOC Hawkler to arrive that I won on Ebay last week for $55 with the BIN. After I paid, I noticed the seller had another one that somebody quickly bought for $60, so I got worried. I thought he was re-selling my figure.

I emailed the seller and he told me he came across a case of them at a flea market and he had a bunch of them to sell. I hope he wasn't full of it, but he sounded pretty sincere. He did have a fair amount of negative feedback though so I hope I am not getting screwed. Oh well, if it doesn't show, I can file for my money back through Paypal.

Some of these have two versions: one with battle-matic action and one without. The battle-matic action is similar to what Lion-O (ThunderCats) has. Some of these look the same like Warduke. Others like the Ogre King have totally different paint jobs and molds. Some others that have two versions but look the same are Strongheart, Northlord, Elkhorn, Zarak and Young Male Titan. Lee's AFN&TR # 75 has pictures of MOC examples of each.

Those 2 Ogre Kings sure look different. I will have to keep my eye open for the light green version. Anyone have pics of a complete Fortress of Fangs?

Finally got my MOC Hawkler in. The guy shipped it 24 days after I Paypaled him payment. At least he showed, I thought I was in for a real hassle.

I just finished tearing the bubble off as it was super yellowed and cracked and voila... a C10 loose Hawkler! I will post a pic of him up in the AD&D section on the main Website.

I just picked up about 10 of these figures at a flea market today. They are all loose, but in near mint shape and complete from what I can tell (they are all in separate baggies with the accessories. I don't know anything about these guys but the price seemed right and I thought they look really cool. Is there a website where I can check out the figures for their value and to see if the ones I have are complete?

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks Galaxy Warrior!!!

Since I am new, I'm still learning to use this site. I found the info I was looking for, and it was truly helpful.
All of mine are complete except I am missing the bow and arrow for melf and the sword/dagger for Zarak. The other figures I found are complete which include Rothlord, Ogre King, Young Male Titan, Strong Heart, Kelek, Warduke, Elkhorn and Ringlerun. I think the kid that had these never played with them since they are in such nice shape.

Thanks again for your help in directing me to the source! ;D

Sometimes you get lucky and find a BIN on Ebay for a good price! Its pretty painfull when you find one that still comes up in a search but has already been purchased at a cheap price. Anybody looking for any particular 2nd series figures?

Mandoom arrived the other day and is in great shape! I remember a few years ago the 2nd series of figures were all over Ebay (they still weren't cheap). Now I hardly see them, though there have been a fair number of MOC Hawklers listed lately.

Just got in my SS Young Male Titan. The only difference from the regular version is his fist (of course) and the shield that attaches to it is 2 seperate pieces. I will get a pic of him up on the archive as soon as I can. Only the SS Northlord, Tiamat and Fortress of Fangs left to go!

I have both silver and grey versions of the regular Strongheart. I think the silver painted one is just as common as the gray one (just from what I have on hand here). I have two Battlematic versions and they are both gray.

Drool, drool,

That SS Northlord's the only figure I need...I'd even consider my carded Cave fisher for a loose one. This figure's bugged me for years and years. I've owned three Tiamats (one as a child, one in my first 'adult' AD&D collection, and the one I have now) and I've never seen a SS Northlord in real life.

How tall are these guys? I never really got into them, but I might like a Warduke. But if he's shorter or taller than my other figs from different lines, he may look goofy.

I think Warduke's about 4" tall, as are most of the others. I think they work fine with regular 3 3/4" figures. There are three larger figures in the line, Northlord, Ogre King and Young Male Titan which would look a little out of place.

Young Male Titan is a Titan after all, and is expected to tower over normal humans. So maybe it would work. ;D

AD&D Melf Shield variation & some unknown parts
« Reply #24 on Feb 5, 2008, 4:22pm »

I have just been busy organizing my AD&D toys and came across the blue Melf shield again that I have had for several years.
I never saw another one on the internet or on a picture. It is 100% legit. It has the identical mold as the brown shield and is of exactly the same material.

I also have 2 parts that came with a AD&D lot and look very much like they belong to that line. However I cannot place them.
(I did not post this in the ID marketplace because these are parts of my collection, perhaps I should have anyway?)

I got one of these (luckily) in a lot of 75 windups (only paid $50 for the entire lot). I knew what it was the minute I saw it in the picture and was prepared to bid more, but I won! Anyway, just wanted to know if anyone in here knows what a loose, but MINT/working condition Cavefisher is going for these days. I'm not selling him, but I'm thinking about insuring my collection and I want to make sure some of the more expensive figures/toys are itemized. Here's a picture. Sorry it's so blurry:
