The movie ones were little 2 inch micro figures. those from the uk were in the 6 inch? range. I have all the eagle judge dredd comics and wouldn't mind getting some toys for cheap.

are these micro figures that you are referring to from the "action master line" of die-cast figures. I have a few of the star wars ones from this line but I recall that they had aliens and terminator figures in this line.

I have a few of the star wars ones from this line but I recall that they had aliens and terminator figures in this line. I don't know if they were die-cast, but they weren't part of the Action master line (which was real nice, espicially the Star Wars). The were made by mattel . I always liked the Judge Dredd character and never looked much for figure of him, but recently as I bought a action figure lot some were included, I still have to receive them, but I,ll sure appreciate them. Cool over the top design!

Received a complete loose collection of these Mattel minis Judge Dredd figure :
They are in hard plastic are about the size of M.U.S.C.L.E. figure, only a tad bigger. Most have only one articulation (waist or an arm), some Judge Dredd have more. The details are quite bold, about the level of M.U.S.C.L.E. or Mattel GUTS figure, but with more paint scheme. The set also include a Judge Dredd on his bike and a Big Robot, ABC Warrior style.
They all have a army men feel to it and the whole set make for a decent gang of thuggies versus hard-boiled cop. Overall this set is pretty cool, not too large (only 6 pack) and the Future Police, evil cyborg punk gangster theme is fun.
I also received the three Judge Dredd figure from the 2000 A.D. Reaction figure line, which are Dredd, Psi Judge Anderson and Judge Death. They are pretty neat also, great paint job and sculpting, pretty close to their comic counterpart. Anderson face look a bit startled and her hair work a bit less, but still she complete the set well.

the ones for the movie by mattel were an experiment to re invent the action figure they came in packs of 2 or 3 and were partly posable 2 inch plastic figures, depite being released for the movie the designs were based on the comic versions except for the abc robot.the idea was for kids to have a whole army of figures in their pocket, the other licence in this format was cyber force .i believe they were called mega heros.they did not take off.
the next wave of figures were done by re action figures a short lived line consiting of some very well made figures with very high quality accesories and sculpts, all characters were from the beloved uk anthology comic 2000ad which dredd is from, the figures were jugde dredd judge anderson judge anderson toy heros exclusive ( diferent head) judge death johnny alpha durham red slaine and ukko
there was also a 12" judge dredd figure made by medicom for the movie, which is quite good but the wrong color the suit is black and it should be blue.
and finaly later this year toy biz-now marvel toys will release marvel legends style figures of independant comics characters, including judge dredd.

i have Traded for 3 of the 2000AD figures as well as the complete line of movie figures. 2000ad figs well represents the comic characters, but are kinda cartoony looking. super wicked Keen! although with toy-biz's legends line tossed over to Hasbro is the line still coming out?
any further info would be greatly appreciated!

I loved the movie and over the years I've accumulated a lot of prototypes from the small Mattel line including some unproduced stuff. At some point I'll share pictures of my entire JD collection, but for now I'll simply share my favorite: It's a painted 2up hardcopy of the ABC robot. Ain't he cute ? -Timothy

Proteus nailed it, except in the Mattel Line they released a HUGE mega Heroes statue/figure. Looked like a Simon Bisley Drawing rendered in resin, stood 15" tall (or more?), they also did a Cyberforce one. I remember the Judge Dredds gathering dust at KayBee and Toy works (Retail was $125-150 -ack!!!!), finally dropping to about $50.
I still have my reaction set. They're great. They always cheer when I play Anthrax records (anybody get that one?)

thats a pic of the ABC robot/warrior from the 2" movie line. did you take it apart and pin it ..cuz mine doesnt come apart The production figure doesn't come apart. The example I shared is a painted 2up (meaning it's twice the finished product size at around 4 inches tall). The 2" line was originally sculpted in this larger scale. From there the original sculpt is used to create a number of urethane/resin samples for tooling and paintmaster purposes (this type of prototype is typically referred to as a hardcopy). As with most hardcopy prototypes the individual pieces are joined together with either metal or plastic pins. I'll double check this week but I don't think I have a production version of the toy to put next to it for scale. It's not worth a fortune or anything like that, but it is quite cool IMO . Then again I love just about any toy that's been hand-painted ;^). -Timothy

Hey Timothy, I love the production figure. It is really cool. Loved all of Dredd's comics and even the Movie - I am such a geek, I could not help saying "I am the Law!" for weeks. lol
I want to find the larger UK figures for the movie if they were produced.

Growing up in Scotland i read 2000Ad every chance i got. The stories were so different from the DC or Marvel counterparts. I even have the Batman/Judge Dredd crossover comics which are excellent. I too love the film. I also have the audiobook titled Day the Law Died where a LOT of the story for the film was taken from. I just wish they would finally do a Rogue Trooper film as the game on PS2 is brilliant.
